I dug the video. Mark has definitely matured as a lyricist and vocalist.
The music's a lot different from what I expected. I expected Blink 182 part 2 but it's definitely a nice, refreshing burst of air. It's pop-punk mixed with alternative-style music. I dig it a lot now but can see myself becoming sick of it.

Travis Barker has now reported that he recently broke his arm on the set of the music video 'When Your Heart Stops Beating.' He had no idea his arm was broken until 3 weeks later. He also reports he might have a tumor in his arm. Travis will try to play the upcoming (+44) shows with one arm, but if he can't a replacement drummer will be hired for the shows.

They do it because all of the Blink fanboys think he is the best drummer in the world, when he isn't. Yes he has some talent, but all the fanboys are like "oMg +rav15 iS dA bsT dRuMM3r eVa!" So the guys in D&P find it necessary to flame Travis and all of his fanboys.

Yeah, but anywho, here's another article, it's better
Ever since he was 4 years old, Travis Barker has only known one way to play the drums: hard.
And now, after more than 25 years of pounding the kit with reckless abandon, that style of play might have finally caught up with him
while he was filming the video for "When Your Heart Stops Beating," the first single from his new band, Plus-44, he started feeling a dull, burning pain in his right forearm — a pain unlike anything he had ever felt before.
"I was basically playing the same song over and over again for eight to 10 hours, just playing normal, hard as f---, and during the last couple of takes, my right arm started acting up," he explained. "And it just kept hurting, like, for a week afterwards. It felt like an old skateboarding injury, but, like, incredibly worse. I kept saying, 'It's a damn broken bone.' "
But with a full slate of promotional interviews for his band's debut album, When Your Heart Stops Beating (including one with MTV News just four days after he injured his arm — see "Plus-44's Travis Barker Still Has A Lot To Say About Blink Breakup"), and an upcoming string of European shows with Plus, he decided to press on. Which was probably not the best idea.
"We were in London, doing rehearsals, and I really started feeling it. I had to go to an urgent-care doctor, because I could feel the pain in my bone, and feel my muscles and tendons tightening with pain," Barker said. "So I went to this doctor, and he couldn't read X-rays, and when he told me not to play for the next three weeks, I told him, 'You can't give me any proof.' So I played every night and iced it every night, but it just kept aching."
Upon returning home to Los Angeles earlier this week, Barker scheduled an appointment with a doctor to undergo an MRI. But rather than providing results, the scan of his forearm only raised more unsettling questions.
"After he did the MRI, we looked and the inside of one of my bones was all black, instead of white, like it should be. Which means that either I have a bunch of fractures in my bone — which, if I kept playing, would shatter — or I had a tumor inside my bone," Barker explained. "It is what it is, and I don't think there's anything I can do about it. I don't like hiding, so I figured I would come out and tell people what's up. Either it's broken, or I could have something growing inside my arm. And that sucks, but there's nothing I can do about it."
Well, there is one thing Barker can do: wait. He was fitted with a cast and instructed by his doctor not to use his right arm for the next six to eight weeks. After that time, doctors will re-examine his bone to see if everything has healed properly — or, if need be, Barker will undergo further tests to determine if the tumor in his bone is benign or malignant.
In the meantime, he's focused on two things. First, he's trying to strengthen his bones, which he said have grown weak due to his vegetarian diet. So, on doctor's orders, he's eating meat again (his first non-veg meal? A chicken taco from Wahoo's, the SoCal taco chain he has a stake in). And second, he's determined to man the kit on Plus-44's upcoming North American tour (see "Plus-44 Announce Tour Dates — For Real This Time"). Even if it means drumming with just one arm.
"I mean, back in the Blink days, I learned to play with my other foot after I broke my right foot and you couldn't even tell," he laughed (see "Blink-182 Drummer Breaks Foot In Blunder Down Under"). "I'm gonna give it a try with my left hand and a bunch of pedals. I'll just have to assign different body parts to different parts of the drums. We'll make it happen, and hopefully it will be rocking."
Vegans/vegetarians have week bones? how weak?

I'd assume he'd just keep time on the high-hat, as he would with his right hand, with a pedal, then snare and toms with he's left hand, then another pedal for cymbols. Or something along those lines.
or maybe he will have another person on cymbals?
I highly doubt that.

PS. Plus-44 resceduled their tour. I knew Travis wouldn't be able to play with one arm.
Just last week, Travis Barker told MTV News that despite a broken right arm, he was determined to play drums on Plus-44's upcoming North American tour — even if it meant "assigning different body parts to different parts of the drums."
But in the end — and despite his best efforts to learn a new way to tackle the instrument he's played for more than 25 years (see "Travis Barker Discusses Bad Break, Road To Recovery") — Barker's injury proved to be too much. On Monday (October 9), Plus-44 announced they were putting tour plans on hold so their drummer can recuperate.
"The first leg of [Plus-44's] fall tour will be rescheduled due to an arm injury suffered by Barker," the band said in a statement. "All rescheduled shows will take place in December; exact dates to be announced soon."
The tour will now kick off November 8 at Jannus Landing in Tampa, Florida, and end November 22 at St. Andrews in Detroit (see "Plus-44 Announce Tour Dates — For Real This Time"). Plus' tour was scheduled to launch October 13 at Soma in San Diego and included stops at this weekend's Bamboozle Left Festival (see "Dashboard, Plus-44 Help Bring Bamboozle Fest To West Coast"). Those dates are now rescheduled, as are all shows up until a November 6 gig at the Warehouse in Houston, Texas.
In addition, the November 16 show at Lupo's in Providence, Rhode Island, has been canceled, with no makeup date given.
Barker's cohort in the band, guitarist Mark Hoppus, expressed his frustration at Plus' canceled shows but pledged that they'll more than make it up to fans in the cities they're missing this time around.
"We can't wait to get out on the road and show everyone what we've been up to for the past year and a half," he said in a statement. "We will get the word out with the new dates in the next couple of days."
The toughest guy I know said it felt like the flesh being peeled from your skin.

Yeah well I bet they still see both of their parents. I haven't seen my dad since christmas and my mom and step-dad divorced this year.

Well, in the video it starts out with, "50% of families split apart", and then at the end, "50% stay together". So, I think it's more of a song about when your parents do fight that it doesn't always mean the end of the family, but giving hope that they would survive. My take, maybe not everyone elses though.
MattuxXx

i think completely differently about stay together's message. to me, its a shout against domestic arguments alltogether. listen to the second verse. its blatant that they're calling for unity in the family.
i think this song, while probably viewed as a child's view, is actually a very mature, although utiopiam, view of marital interaction. "rather than fix their problems, they never solve them. it makes no sense at all. i see them everyday. we get along, so why cant they?" its obviously an innocent soul. but from the mouth of babes will come the truth (sorry to allude to the Bible on a punk forum). i think the narrator knows how jacked up everything is and is speaking out against it.

And nothing is wrong with the bible, as long as you don't take it too seriously and impose your views on others. At least that's what I think.

i dont mean to make a religious debate about this, but think about it logically. young people are devoid of heavy influence from propoganda and their own faulty logic. older people cannot feel natural things such as the Lord as well, because their senses are numbed by their own minds and overthinking things.
but if you dont understand things, dont criticise them. if you study theology and you delve deeply into the Bible, then you can come to the conclusion that its a foolish verse and THEN you can ridicule me.
but back on the subject of the song, i think its a prime example of what the Bible meant, even though if i remember correctly, the Bible was talking about prophecy. dont remember... anyways, the child who's speaking in the song is obviously morally right, and the parents are only following their own selfish desires. so then, who is carrying truth? the parents or the child (aka babe).
Erm, he's entitled to an opinion... right?
And nothing is wrong with the bible, as long as you don't take it too seriously and impose your views on others. At least that's what I think.
And you can read the bible without being religious...
i dont read the Bible without being religious. im pretty religious. i wanna be a minister. just thoght i'd say, since it was brought up.

It's basically some random date assigned on a home football game. A big ceremony is held for a "homecoming queen" and a dance is usually held and stuff like that.
Homecoming is an annual tradition of the United States of America. Peoples, towns, high schools and colleges come together, usually in late September or October, to welcome back former residents and alumni. It is built around a central event, such as a banquet, football game, basketball game, or an ice hockey game.
When celebrated by schools, the activities vary widely. However, they usually consist of a football game played on the school's home football field, activities for students and alumni, a parade featuring the school's marching band, and the coronation of a Homecoming Queen (and at many schools, a Homecoming King).

First off, thank you for taking time to do this interview.
Tom- No, thank you. I’m honored that i’m getting to do this interview with you guys for the first time in a while.
We all know that you changed your music style since you’ve been in blink 182, but why change your looks?
Tom- Yes, I know a lot of you are wondering why I have changed so much but the truth is that I haven’t changed as far as my personality. I’m just showing the other half of me, and it’s kind of a way of proving that I have more than just one side. I just kind of got bored of my old look that i had for just about 6 years, so i decided to change a little. I’m sure that I’ll go back to the way I looked but I don’t know when. It could be in 30 years. I just really don’t care.
Why take the piercings out?
Tom- Like I said, I just kind of got bored of my old look so I decided to change a little. I’m sure I’ll put it back in, but i just don’t know when.
We know that you sang a blink and box car song on the last tour you went on. Do you think that you will sing anymore songs like that?
Tom- I was going to sing a piece of I’m Lost Without You from Blink but I decided that I probably shouldn’t because I’m not Blink 182 anymore, I’m Angels and Airwaves and it’s a completely different sound. I am very proud of the work I did in Blink, but it sadly came to an end.
We haven’t seen you in over 2 months, any new changes?
Tom- Well, I’m even more handsom than I was before because my hair is black. Many of you probably saw me at the VMA’s. But no new looks since the vma’s.
I know you probably get this question a lot but do you think that there is any chance that blink 182 will come back in the future?
I know a lot of you are wondering this. I have said before, i can never say never. There is always a chance. I do think about those guys every day. Playing with them would be a joy but I wouldn’t know if they want to and I don’t know how I could have the biggest band in the world if I went back to blink. It would seem as if AVA was a waist of time.
Do you think that you’ll ever go back to the Punk Rock music style?
I will probably. I have always loved punk rock and I’m not going to just let it go. I do miss being a punk superstar in blink 182 but I also like different kinds of music. I sing what I like and I sing what I think my fans will like.
Do you think that you will pick up your ex bandmate’s Mark and Travis’s album?
Tom-Yes, of course. I haven’t just forgotten about them. I’m very excited to hear their music.
Thank you for taking your time to do this interview and good luck on your tour.
Tom- Thank you. And by the way, my new song will be out within a week or so.
The (+44) album 3 different covers, and they will be sold at random, meaning that if you order online, you won't know which cover you get. The 3 different covers will just have different colors, one pink, one blue, and one green.

She's softly dreaming
She's scraped and sober
But theres no one listening
We'll wake up in vacant rooms
Pull you close to my aching skin
Broken glass on the porcelain
Is it what you imagined?
The whole "She" thing and the "pull you close to my aching skin" implies a sexual relationship if you look at the language. Mark, Tom, and Travis were close but...not that close.

Former Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge is sick of being accused of maturity.
"Everyone thinks I'm this crazy serious artist now but I still do and say as much stupid **** as I ever have," the Angels and Airwaves frontman says.
"The naked thing doesn't happen quite as much but I'll never get sick of dick jokes."
Since the demise of the frequently nude pop-punk pranksters Blink-182, DeLonge has done much to deserve the "mature" label. He has become a father for the second time and proven himself a capable entrepreneur with his clothing (Atticus), footwear (Macbeth) and online shopping (loserkids.com) companies. Adding legitimacy to the accusations is Angels' music: moody, anthemic and patently more mature than Blink's three-chord punk.
DeLonge started Angels last year, swiftly declaring Blink's "indefinite hiatus" definite.
"I think people are still wondering, 'Is this a side project?' or, 'What is this going to be for the future?'" he says. "I'm just saying it's gonna be the biggest band in the world."
His former bandmates, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, have started their own band, +44, and last month admitted to writing a song that blamed Blink's end on DeLonge.
"All the great songs, the great songwriters are singing about things that have affected them emotionally," DeLonge says. "And it doesn't make me feel anything. I would expect it, actually.
"I have songs about [the break-up], too, except mine are, kind of, more indirect. In a sense, mine were more about starting a new life and being optimistic and excited about the future. And I'm not saying that as though I know what theirs are about because I have not listened to their record."
DeLonge has not spoken with Barker or Hoppus since last year. He says he is glad the band no longer exists.
"The last couple of years were kind of painful. They were getting painful. I'm glad that we moved on. At this moment in time, it's kind of like a fresh break-up, like it would be between a guy and a girl, you just need your space. I hope one day we'll figure it out. But as far as music goes and my career goes, I've found my home for the rest of my life."
DeLonge says the end of Blink was a pivotal influence in writing We Don't Need to Whisper, Angels' debut album, which is full of riffs, introspection and jolts of stadium-worthy refrains.
"Where I was in my life, I was pretty depressed coming out of that break-up and wanted to sing something that really picked me up," he says. "The [Angels'] record was more therapy for myself than anything. I figured if I sang anthems that made myself feel good, imagine what it could do for other people."
At the least, DeLonge hopes his anthems will inspire fans to quit using eyeliner and sadness as markers of style.
"I wanted to make being excited cool, because every other band wants to dress up in f---ing make-up and act like they're pissed about everything," he says.
"I don't want to put on a bunch of make-up and walk around going: 'I'm angry at my parents.' It's like, Jesus Christ, f---ing get over it. Be excited, go outside and feel good. 'Cause you know what? It's a choice and it's kind of addictive when you do it."

Yeh its wierd after being friends with someone for 15 years you would think it would have been an extremely intense fight to cause somthing like this.
I know. They were like...the band that represented how my friends and I were when we were like 12 and 13, just saying dick jokes and farting and stuff.
I'd deffinatly say Tom's losing so much respect because of AvA. They're a decent band, but Tom's really showing his colours. He's coming across as such an idiot.
Definitely. Not only does he think AvA is the best and most innovative band of all time (he says it in interviews) but he's trying so hard to be artsy and he's coming off like such a stuck up controlling jerk.

As for the colours thing, yeah I do think about different bands as different colours.
Blue = Blink
Red = AvA
Green = (+44)

I think of yellow when i think of blink and a blackish purple when i think of AVA

To Be fair....
Me and my best mate where like that for 3 years at least, but now we dont talk, we had a fight, just drifted apart, and i cant say its effected me too much, i dunno why.
She emailed me today saying she realy missed me, and i was just like "oh".
But i can totaly see how it could be for them, even if the time isnt much different.
its been 2 years nearly, they would of got over it.

dude... You do relise she sings backup vocals. For like 1 chorus. Mark if he want's can easily ask a friend of his to do some girl back up vocals... She really didnt add anything to the song at all.

I was implying it will fail without a woman in the band. Because it adds a dynamic to the band that makes them not as generic and samey as every other band.

There's no way they will fail. Mark Hoppus has a army of fans who will bite at anything with his name on it. Define fail as well. They will sell records go on tours, Have video clips, Be on raido... I dont count that as failing.

Yay for Carol being on the album still.
And P44 will definitely not fail.
By fail I mean they will suck hard.
They're currently living up to my expectations.
They sound like Mark's Box Car Racer to me, which isn't a bad thing. I'll buy this album, unlike AAA.
And I can't hear Carol on the new demo.

Even that way it's still a pretty boring album. Very downbeat and repetitive, and the lyrics leave little to be inspired.

You can preview 30 second clips of every (+44) song on the album. There's 2 websites where you can listen to the clips. They both contain clips of differeent parts of the song, so check both the sites out if you have a chance.

Yeah, alot of the songs seem to be blatently about Tom and the break up of Blink. Doesn't really leave much to the imagination.
Or you guys are just dumb as hell and make everything out to be about Tom.
The lyrics could be about a ton of things and people are like "OMG ITS ABOUT BLINK OMG OMG"

I've only heard one song on the album, how can I possibly say "OMG EVERY SONG IS ABOUT TOM LAWL"
All I said was Plus 44 sounds a lot like Blink, whereas AVA does not.
