Ok, great story time. So last night at about 1:00 AM, I wake up, and I heard a bunch of sirens. I look out my window, and I see a load of cop cars heading my way. My parents were like wtf? so I went down stairs to ask them what was going on. My dad went outside, and the cops stopped, and they told him that they were chasing a guy who had a gun and some drugs. They asked my dad if he had seen the car, but he hadn't, because the sirens woke us up, not the actual druggie driving by. So, here are these 9 cop cars, and they think that they chases this guy into one of our corn fields, so they go down the road, and they're trying to find this guy, but every last one of them are these fata*** morons who have no clue how to coordinate,(There were cops from Sunnyside, Mabton, Grandview, some staters, and the sherrif) so they didn't find the guy. This morning, I wake up, and my dad looks out the window towards the field this guy was hiding in, and the guy was walking down the road toward our house.(oh shi') I walked over to the window, and my dad went downstairs. I asked him where he was going. "To get my shotgun."
:amaze:
Then, when I was still looking out the window, I saw the guy jump into one of the unsuspecting worker's trucks. "Uhh, dad, Jessie is giving this guy a ride." "****."
So my dad called the moron idiot cops again, and they showed up about half an hour ago, and guess what. They chased the bastard into another corn field. Protect and serve. refl.

I don't download music much either, but when I did that I hadn't even heard any Doors, so it seemed a good idea to download instead of buy CD's not knowing whether or not I'll like them. Ultimately, I find the CDs to be decent. I also download Heavy Metal that isn't easy to buy around here. But even still, (Rix) I hardly ever download, except a few tracks from YSI thread.
When I make CD's like that, though, I find it hard to not listen to both albums all the way through, because it feels like one album. It's cool though, because if I want to exercise for eighty minutes I don't have to change discs.

I came in at the right time. I was also watching the Isle of Wight show (I own it on Dvd, naturally. The difference is that I watch is regularly and you've just seen it). But back on topic, The Who live is one of rock's greatest accomplishments (in my opinion, obviously). You can feel the energy coming out of Townshend's windmills, Moons blaring speed and fills, and Daltrey's powerful vocals. Then after you get past seeing Pete jump around the stage and Moon's hands flying around, you can actually listen to Entwistle's amazing bass performances.
Although I don't think The Who's recordings are unimpressive (I think exactly the opposite) I do agree with the point I think you're making here, which is that they were much more of a live band. I appreciate their studio work for different qualities, but in terms of rock 'n roll, pure energy, volume, etc, The Who's live show is quite an experience that is very hard to imitate.
You might be interested in Live at Leeds (CD), the sound quality is much better and even though it isn't quite the same as seeing it, it still has basically the same effect. I could upload it/send it to you if you're interested.

I did the same thing last night, and i agree, and also cant wait for a sequel, now that all the formal crap of them becoming superheros is out of the way, we can see just some quality fantastic four stuff.
Dr. Doom isn't nearly as cool as he should be in that movie. Honestly, where was the accent?

Indeed! This movie it's fair share of action, so I can't imagine how much they could add into a sequel.

People who do series spend a lot of time on them (one hour at least) and sure it's not the best thing not to get many replies. I would start a technical metal series too if I was sure about people's responses (does anyone besides me care?) and if writing in english didnt take me me THAT long.

While doing my critcally acclaimed Nu Metal That Doesn't Suck (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=357283), I found myself listening to music I hadn't heard in years and was surprised to find that the songs I liked back in 2002 and such still sound good to me. Wait...Crap, I got the conversions backwards. It would be more like $50 here. :upset: I knew that many cds for that little money could not possibly be true.

Well you complained about not having any way to download things, but you must have forgetten about the R&M yousendit thread. I've never had a file-sharing program on my laptop but I'm getting new songs every day thanks to that thread.
Nah, it's more to do with the fact that I'm back on my old 56K connection at the moment. So even when people are kind enough to upload things for me, it takes me a long time to download them. I am actually downloading this one, though. For example, loading the page after my previous reply took many minutes :-/
In the meantime, I'm watching Mallrats for the first time in a long while, and playing on my rediscovered Gameboy.
Mallrats is such a great movie. My sister and I quote it all the time.

Just less than $70, actually :-/ Would have been more a couple of weeks ago, before the London bombings.

I already posted this in the Tool thread but:
Wow what a crappy day. I friggin' hate livin' in the ghetto.
I went to the bus stop to go to work. There were two ghetto-dressed black guys a couple years older than me sitting there. So I sit down and the guys talking to me and he's like "you got a score on you?" and I'm like I don't smoke. He askes you got any weed on you? and I'm like no man. The other guy asks if I'm payin' for the bus and I say "yeah". He asks if I wanna buy a ticket and I'm like sure. So I get the ticket and that's how they figure out if I got money on me even though I only had like fifty cents left. He was like "have you ever been jumped before?" and I'm like "yeah" he's like "have you ever been robbed before?" and I'm like no and "he's like this is your first time how do you feel?". I stand up and I'm like "come on man you don't wanna do that". He throws his fist up to punch me in the stomach thinking I won't do **** back. I then punch him square in the face twice, really good. The other guy tries to put me in a full nelson and I elbowed him in the face. There was a little more scuffleing and I got hit on top of the head twice and then I was like "get the **** back bitch" And I hit one guy and push the other guy off of me. Then they looked at eachother and split. That's the second time I got jumped.
On top of that I had a headache and a stomach ache and was argueing with my girlfriend a few minutes before that online.

You don't always know that. Since they already had a two on one maybe they wouldn't think it was needed. Then once you fought back it could have come out.
It is more likely that they would've pulled it out at the beginning, but you have to be ready.

Yeah that's exactly what they'll do that happened one time like a couple years ago.
This one ghetto kid was hitting on my girlfriend at the time and I told him to get the **** outta here so he went and got his 18 year old brother and his friends to come and jump me and my uncle who was outside at the time. I got beat that time.

I live near a few Ghettos, but not too close and not close enough to have to worry about encounters like that anytime regularly. On Halloween the kids from their used to come to my neighborhood and every now and then something would happen, but I don't go out on Halloween anymore so I don't know what happened with that.

And so I leave you this advice Steerpike: corpse paint + spiked braclets + all black + harpoon = scares ghetto kids ****less. My friend's brother got jumped by some Puerto Rican kid a little back, and then the next day, he showed up at the kid's house in a BM get-up, scared the kid ****less. Then later that day he was just walking around downtown speaking in ebonics wearing corpse paint carrying a harpoon.

These guys spamming the Linkin Park thread are retarded.
"They write about Teenage Angst and Rebellion"
I tell them that Hybrid Theory was mostly about a friend who had died and that Meteora was mostly about Chester Bennington's divorce.
"What you were with them when they wrote the songs? And their Remix album was just Hybrid Theory with 1337 song titles"
I tell them they did that to collaberate with the people they idolized in Highschool.
The one kid actually said "No, they just remixed the CD,"
they are absolutely retarded...
More like Stinkin Park.

No one cares about Linkin Park. They are the biggest pussies ever. I used to like them, but then I learned what real music was.
"hay guys, lets come up with a band that raps AND plays hardkore metal raawwwr"
funny thing, i used to hate them, but they are good people, they play what they can and now they don't bother me at all, i learned that i got to first judge a band by their general musicianship, and not by what they represent.
I don't even own a record or a song, but i have seen many live videos and they are o.k., still i'm not a fan at all.

Sure they are thrash, but you can't say you're into thrash (or death, or power or whatever) and act like an "expert" (tallica teh best trash eva!) when you've only heard a couple of the most popular bands of the genre.
Anyway, have a nice day at work (hell you wake up early!) :)

Woke up a few minutes ago...
Saw a couple of movies yesterday...The Island, which was decent...Scarlet Johansson (sp?) was extremely hot in that movie. Dialogue was a bit skewed, but there was plenty of action. Not worth 9 bucks to go see...if you go see it at matinee, it's worth the money.
Then, my mom rented Million Dollar Baby...that was just...wow. The ending is so tragic...this one is a must see. A brilliant movie, well deserving of the praise that was heaped on it.
