Hey Jom, this may interest you since I know you like Catch 33. My friend just told me this, but Tomas Haake didn't actaully drum on the album. They recorded samples of his drums, and did all of the recording through a drum machine. They did this for two reasons. One, to make it sound more machine-like and two, due to time constraints. Speaking of bikes, I am thinking about renting one for a day with my sister just to ride around the island. That would be sweet.
I remember when I was in Canada with my family...We spent a day riding bikes around Stanley Park, only I was on a chinsey aluminum scooter. First we rented bikes(and a scooter) and we rode down this hill to the park. On the way down, I found the beauty of the brake on the scooter. If I pressed hard enough on the break, I could do a powerslide, so the entire way down to the lake, I was riding the brake. :D This was fun until I actaully had to start pushing. While I was powersliding with the brake, the wheel was getting worn, so after 5 minutes, the rear wheel basically turned into an octogon. It was a bumpy couple of hours. This, coupled with the fact that I had eaten 2 scones before we left the hotel did not lead to a very favorable outcome. About 45 minutes into the bike ride, I started feeling queasy, and then, I ran over to the lake, and hurled. Scones with jam do not equal a good looking pile of barf. :-/

Hey there.
American. I like the British one better, but, it's not on often. Chip is the extra tonight. Don't like him too much, I like Greg.
Agreed. Chip is okay, but my favorite one of the American version was when Josie was a guest. They did the foreign film dub in Klingon. During one sketch, she said this one phrase that must have been pretty filthy because the entire thing was bleeped out. She couldn't understand why everyone was laughing so hard and looking so shocked until Ryan came up and explained to her you couldn't say that on American TV.
She just had a "WTF?" look on her face.

Alcohol lowers your sex drive, decreases the size of your manhood when erect, and makes your semen taste bad.
Also increases the chance of vomiting on your partner, which would really kill the mood.
Sober's the way to go.
Sober and with a meal of chilli and pineapple is the way. :thumb:

You might like it. Very strange comedy movie about loser superheroes in a near-future reality. One of Ben Stiller's good movies. You have to be inclined to geekiness to really appreciate it though.
Bill Macy plays The Shoveler, a superhero who uses a shovel like a martial arts weapon. Hank Azaria is The Blue Rajah, "an effete British superhero" who is a crack marksman with thrown weapons, but he only uses silverware (never knives) and specializes in forks.
Geoffrey Rush is the German villain, Casanova Frankenstein.

I was just thinking about watching Clerks tonight.
I saw Fantastic 4, it was amazingly mediocre. It did a lot to look impressive, but ultimately accomplished very little. They definitely need a sequel for this movie to have served any real purpose. And the acting for the most part was subpar. They made up for Jessica Alba's nearly complete lack of dialogue ability by putting her either in a tight spandex suit or having her strip off her clothes in order to turn completely invisible. Which, I'll admit, did bump the movie up a few notches.

Use all tapping.
Your right hand or what ever hand you use for fretting has to hit the strings like a real hard hammer on to make it work.
Also helps if you pickups are high output to make the sound come in louder.

Tapping is usually just using the fret hand fingers, and only one finger on the hand. I think two hand tapping goes into the "multiple fingers on both hands/multiple string" area.

You mean like two-hand tapping? Ah crap. I suck enough at regular tapping as it is...
In all reality, it is easier then it looks.
The hardest thing about the song is making it all come together in the right time and tempo and such.
Try the intro out really slow, one finger at a time and see how easy it is in all reality.
Try this :
I label fingers as 1 2 3 4 : 1 - index 2 - middle 3 - ring 4 pinky
Take finger number one on the fretting hand an do a hard hammer on on the 7th fret on the E string, then take your third finger and do a hard hammer on the 9th fret on the A string.
Then your picking hand use finger number two to tap the first note on the 12th fret on the B string then use your number one finger to tap the other note on the 12th fret on the D string.
Then for the next bar for your fretting hand, use finger number 1 for the 10th fret on A string, and your second finger for the D string hammer-on on the 11th fret.
Then use finger number two and number one in the same way as you did on the 14th fret.
Take it slow, and you will see it is easier then it looks.

American. I like the British one better, but, it's not on often. Chip is the extra tonight. Don't like him too much, I like Greg.
The american one is terrible in comparison to the british one, i get barely any laughs out of it. First of all Wayne Brady is not funny, nor is anyone else on the show who was not on the british version. Then they make it worse by overcomplicating everything in the american one. Like when doing the dating show instead of doing something simple yet funny like lets say an Angry Neighbor, they make it so over the top that its not funny like something ridiculous like Ryan is in love with colins left ear hair and wants to marry his right shoe, while doing the hokey pokey and making pies, or whatever.
On top of that Drew Carey is not that funny on the show, whereas Clive Anderson was brilliant.
That being said i really do wish british humor was more popular in the US.

While wondering the street of my little town checking out the market stalls on today I came across a stall which I have never seen in my three years of living in the village. A CD stall. I instantly went to browse and it was unfortunately full of music for older people such as Cliff Richard. All hope was not lost though, maybe I could find some Pink Floyd or Cream. Unfortunately not. However, I did happen to come across a CD by a band that some people on MX are quite big fans of. So I pulled a crisp ten pound note out of my pocket and bought the CD. I then went home and placed it in my CD player. The CD then started to play and it was good. THe CD was L.A. Woman by The Doors.

When I was looking for a guitar I fell upon a beautiful and cheap jackson but it was right handed . Then I got my left handed Ibanez but I suck at it sooo...

Oh, on the political satire thread? I said there weren't too many, I think. The only one I know of would be The Daily Show. I think I mentioned that.
No, it was definitely in this thread, and it was a blanket statement, too. Maybe it just wasn't you.
It was possibly the greatest advert ever made. *Irn Bru ad description*
Yeah, that was a great advert. My vote for favourite still goes to that Guinness one, from about ten years ago now, with Louis Armstrong.
Uh oh, Bartender deleted a post...
No, I didn't. I wasn't even online at the time, and why would I delete a random, perfectly good, post? :-/
hahahaha that's a great quote, my favorite from the second series is when hes describing the entire bond film.
My favourite was always just simply his "back of the net", replete with kicking motion. It gained a bit of a cult following from myself and a certain friend. It was usually just a great show in general, though.
I didn't like Red Dead Revolver.
Why not? I thought it was great, personally.
Look here you sill brit, its Lay's potato chips, not Walkers potato crisps, and they are called Lays everywhere else (except germany, it is Walkers here as well) because they are owned by the FritoLay company.
Just to clarify, no one ever refers to them as "potato crisps" :)

yes, i know, you just use the word Crisps, but the bags here say Potato Crisps on them, dunno if its like that in the good ole UK or not, as ive never been there.
What I do find funny is that in the US if you say crisps, you mean something totally different than the generic potato chip. Like if you go to the snack aisle in a supermarket you will find Chips (as in what we americans call chips, not french fries) and Crisps right next to each other. The difference is that the crisps are processed a lot more, thinner, and generally healthier for you. So, big difference there.

People drop off stuff they don't want anymore, and then a group of people go through it to see if it is suitable. They have records, tapes, CD's, books, etc. I'll see if I can find any good music.

I can't STAND Wal-Mart's music. One, because they have a crappy selection. Two, because they won't sell unedited cds.

And while we're talking about hockey, Boston actually used to be a hockey town back in the days of Bobby Orr and the Big Bad Bruins. Chicago, however, has been a football town for ages. I'd respond to this, but I think I just had an aneurysm.
Its the fact that the games score is so high. When scoring is that often in a game, the points are essentially meaningless. Take soccer for instance, if a team wins 5-0, that is a landslide victory, but if a basketball team wins by only 5 points its a very close game. You dont get the same excitement you would from a team scoring in basketball that you would in just about any other sport. It just goes back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. So boring.
Whilst we are at it, ban Ray too. For being black.

I think you're watching for the wrong reasons. The best part about basketball is that no sport combines the necessity of team play with individual brilliance as well as it does.

Soccer is also the simplest sport ever pretty much. Run around trying to kick a ball into the net, cant go offsides, cant use your hands, cant interfere with the goalie, and cant try to hurt another player.
After you watch it for 30 minutes and 1 or 2 goals are scored and its basically just a bunch of guys running back and forth on a huge field, it gest boring so easily.

That is where i go back to the original argument against basketball. While soccer games can be boring (but then again in any sport a game can be just total crap and thusly boring, no sport is exempt from that in my opinion), the sheer excitment found in a high quality soccer game is far superior to that of most other sports. With the low point values, in a close game, especially between two rivals (and here in germany there are quite a few, dont forget the british primier league either, and such), if a goal is scored, even if its on a penalty, its beyond exciting. How much excitment do you really get from seeing someone sink a free throw in basketball?
Next time you happen to notice one of the American networks playing an Arsenal vs. Manchester United soccer match (which at least in new jersey they show reruns of these fairly often), just watch it, and pick a side before the game starts to stand behind for the entire game, and you will see.
It was just like when i watched the England vs. US game in may (i think it was may, the last couple months just wizzed by me and blurred together), we watched it with a bunch of people from the UK and Ireland, and it was sheer insanity, and also a great match, i was very impressed with the way the US played.
This is also the reason I will probably be returning to germany for the world cup next year.

If you do go, go to frankfurt, because then i can give you this information, which you should write down and save for a year.
first off, the frankfurt stadium is real nice, ive seen the Frankfurt Eintracht play there before, great stuff, and the stadium will be used in the world cup.
Secondly these are the pubs you need to go to to watch the games:
1) if a team playing is in anyway related to the UK or Ireland, go to MacGowan's pub to watch it, it is off the central area called the Zeil, if you go to the subway station named Konstabler Wache, you will see a sign on a street post that says "irish pub" and an arrow pointing, that is where you need to go. The one guy who works there, Patty, is insane, and they serve food there which also happens to be pretty good.
2) If a team playing is Australia, go to an irish pub in the area of Frankfurt called Sachsenhausen called "The Anglo Irish". Lot of aussies there, makes a real nice atmosphere.
3) if a germany game is on, just go right to the Zeil, they will have a huge screen set up outdoors, and beer stands all over the place. German soccer fans are amazing, so much fun being surrounded by them when a local team is playing. The celebration when the Frankfurt Eintracht got upgraded back into the Bundes Liga (the german equivalent of a premier league), it was the most amazing experience of my whole year in frankfurt.
If any other team is playing, go where you desire.
Hope to see you there next summer!

See, you can't compare basketball and soccer...basketball is about sustained brilliance. You don't cheer one play (unless it's a buzzer-beater, obviously), you watch everything going on. Basketball is first and foremost a team sport, but in no other sport can one individual stand out within that context...I dunno, it's hard to explain why I love it so much.
