It was advertised as a fighting like film, but in reality it really isn't, every one should watch it with an open mind, quite a good movie.

Im watching Monty Python's Flying Circus right now. God, it's pure genius.

Yes, there are very few shows which can stand up to the flying circus

I liked Revenge of the Sith.

As did i, the most star wars of the new trilogy out of the lot.

I hate how George Lucas changed Anakin's face in return of the Jedi to the new Anakin. It's freakin' blasphemy.

I was actually more angry with the fact there is a jar jar binks quote thrown into the end of return of the jedi when you can hear him go "WEEESA FREEEE!" because while the anakin thing was annoying, it wasnt a totally extra unnecessary scene added in for no reason what so ever. I mean come on do we really need jar jar poking his head into the original trilogy?

Jar Jar Binks is possibly one of the worst characters ever created by anyone ever.

Hero = more of an artsy film then a martial arts movie.

It was advertised as a fighting like film, but in reality it really isn't, every one should watch it with an open mind, quite a good movie.

I agree, and i would follow it up by saying the same thing about House of Flying Daggers, which although seemed to have a bit of a smaller budget is still an excellent film, and also has that very artsy feel to it.

Any one else blowing **** up on the 4th?

Good afternoon, everybody.

I had quite the eventful evening yesterday. My band kicked out our old rhythym guitarist because of conflicting interests (we want to do some southern-fried melodic death, he wants to do some screamo bullmalarky.) and replaced him with a good buddy of ours and jammed pretty much all afternoon. We went into town late at night, had some Hardee's burgers, and went over to another friend's house and hung around/drank, rocked out, and played guitar. He (the friend) tried to do that trick that metalcore guitarists do when they sling their guitars around their bodies and hit himself in the head with the guitar  . Good times. A lot of stuff went down, I just can't remember a lot of it. But yeah, felt good to have a 'night on the town".

I'm getting sick of the whole "OMG ANARCHY LET'S ATTACK THE GOVERNMENT" style of lyrics. It's all too cliche for me. I mean was pretty rad back in the 70's (Animals comes to mind here) But now they're just doing this monotonous bullshit that has been beaten to a pulp. I find it kind of ironic that those kind of bands have ended up just like the government in doing the same things over and over and over again. :-/

Not only is it generic, but I also have a suspicious feeling that they actually have no clue what they're talking about and just making an image for themselves to sell to a new generation who'll believe anything they say.

If you mean music, I'm a little confused. I'm sure that I would love to, but I would like a little more detail on what exactly you're looking for.

Basically, I have a cluster of films I'm hoping to produce in the next couple of years, some of which may actually have a budget. I'd prefer to commission original songs and soundtracks from independent or unsigned artists for two reasons:

1. Since I'm doing indie film, I couldn't in good conscience not support indie music.
2. Even if I could, I wouldn't want to deal with record labels who would demand extra royalties and stiff the actual artists.

I thought of you because you're into New Age, Celtic, and Prog, and I need someone who's willing to compose something a little more avant-garde than the usual fair.

For example, the first film I hope to make in 2006 is and adaptation of "Pickman's Model" by H.P. Lovecraft. I'm already working on acquiring a painter to make the necessary portraits for the film, but I want an original soundtrack for it as well.

Read the original short story and let me know if you'd be interested. If not, I'll list a few other projects I had in mind, and if you like the sound of any of them, we can go from there.

Cain! Haven't seen you in a while.

And you shan't for a little while longer, because it's 2:50 AM and I need to sleep. But hello, glad to see you. I've actually seen you around quite a bit, but I've been lurking more for the past few days. :)

Steerpike: sounds like a ton of fun. I'd be curious as to whether I'd do it for free, however, although cost is an issue for you then forget it. I'd just like more detail when you can give it. I'm liking the sound of your thoughts though, I'll check the story out and get back to you. It sounds like fun.

I really hope I can do the July cover comp. It would be fun, but I hope I can figure out something with Sixpounder. I love playing that song. Or maybe I can try learning the rest of Bed of Razors really fast. That would be sweet.

NJMetalMeister
07-03-2005, 12:11 PM
yeah i also hope i can do it, my issue is not so much with learning the songs, or how to record, just time constraints. My laptop, which i have here in germany is just not powerful enough to record, it gets extreme lag (besides i have a terrible sounding amp here, its one of those battery operated ones). However i will finally be home for good on the 25th of july, which just gives me 6 days to record all guitars, bass, and vocals, and i picked a song with a semi-odd structure to it, so messups are bound to occur. Plus i think a friend of mine has both my vocal and instrument mics, so i would need to get both of those back before i even attempted to record anything, which is the other problem.

Still, ive been under bigger pressure about final projects for school, and i enjoy playing guitar, so this should be a piece of cake.
