"When I was growing up, there was a saying, 'Sixteen will get you 20… Sixteen is a girl's age; "20" is the number of years an adult male would spend in prison if he had sex with her.'" More and more studies are pointing to the fact that a significant number of teens are impregnated by adult men. While laws prohibiting predatory behavior have long been on the books in all 50 states, they have mostly languished for the past two or three decades.
Statutory rape laws are based on the premise that until a person reaches the age of maturity, that person is legally incapable of consenting to sexual intercourse. The age of consent ranges from 14 to 18 years of age, although in more than half of the states - including Massachusetts - the age of consent is 16. The primary intention of statutory rape laws is to protect teenage girls and, recently, boys as well, from being sexually preyed upon by adults. By design, the laws are meant to deter and punish adults who have sex with minors. By definition, these laws are targeting non-forcible sexual activity. States and counties are generally not pursuing teenage "lovers" who are close in age. Instead, law enforcement agencies typically prosecute statutory rape cases only when there is an age gap of 5 or more years between the minor and their partner.
Taken from http://www.mafamily.org/StatutoryRape.htm
This is extremely sickening:
In Massachusetts, MFI's research (using 1996 data) found that in cases where adult men voluntarily acknowledge paternity:
* Men age 20 and older account for 23 percent of all births by girls age 15 and younger
* Men age 20 and older account for 39 percent of all births by girls age 17 and younger.
Dr. Jake Destructo

So, in the case of statutory, what happens if the girl is 18(I'm talking about the US here) and the guy is 19...I mean they could only be seperated in birth by a couple months, but from what I've gathered, this shouldn't happen, according to my 19 year old friend who couldn't get an 18 year old girl if he tried.
In other news, today, I purchased Blackwater Park.

I have the unfortunate habbit of making new accounts.
The ones I play on most are:
Elephant-Shoe (http://www.battle.net/war3/ladder/W3XP-player-profile.aspx?Gateway=Azeroth&PlayerName=elephant-shoe) - This is my strictly FFA account. Ranked 39 right now, after XP decay owned me (I was higher) due to school. The % isn't great, but that's common for top 100 FFA'ers.
Other accounts:
Dr.D.Fect (http://www.battle.net/war3/ladder/W3XP-player-profile.aspx?Gateway=Azeroth&PlayerName=dr.d.fect) (RT 4v4/FFA)
Merthious. (http://www.battle.net/war3/ladder/W3XP-player-profile.aspx?Gateway=Azeroth&PlayerName=merthious.) - 70% / RT4v4/FFA
the-implant (http://www.battle.net/war3/ladder/W3XP-player-profile.aspx?Gateway=Azeroth&PlayerName=the-implant) - A played on this account for a while when I started, then just started to joke around and give free wins. I recorded how many wins I had given on this account, but I lost the sheet. Upwards to 100. I also massed towers in 4v4 RT quite a lot, never expecting to win.
My other two FFA accounts that I am building right now are:
mer[thious] - 4-0 UD FFA
converge - 4-0 NE FFA
I'll be playing with those and getting them higher once I have time. I've got a solid FFA NE strat down, and now win 90% of all my NE FFA games on all of my accounts.

It's basically warcraft II, but high tech, and instead of Orcs there are weird mutants (Zerg) and then there is a 3rd race, it's really good, but WCIII is better.

Your FFA strat needs a tweak dude.
Night Elf wise, start out sending 4 wisps to your gold mine and 1 to a tree. Produce 3 more wisps. The first that is produced creates a Ancient of War. The next creates a Moon Well. The next creates an Alter. Produce another wisp and put him in the gold mine (now your mine is full). The next wisp builds another Moon Well. When the wisp that built the first Moon Well is done building, scout with it. That's the best building order.
There are two good hero combos for NE. Either Warden/Panda/POTM, or Dark Ranger/Demon Hunter/Keeper of the Grove. The first combo is good for killing a lot of units. Warden's Fan of Knives and Panda's Breath of Fire along with Drunken Haze is great. Lots of damage there. However, my personal favourite is the other combo I mentioned. Start off with Dark Ranger first, getting Black (or Dark, I forget the proper name) Arrows. Creep with a few archers and your DR. Black Arrows produces a ton of skeletons for creeping, which provides melee since archers/DR are both range. Keep creeping and as you level upgrade Silence/Black Arrows. After getting to tier 2 get a Demon Hunter with Mana Burn then Evasion. Build a couple Ancient of Winds and then tech to tier 3. At tier 3 get a Keeper of the Grove with Entangle, and if you're facing an enemy with melee air, get thorns aura. This is key to win with Chippo.
Units? Chippo. Don't listen to people who say it's cheap. They're given units and using them is key. Mass moon wells and get some AP's while staying UNDER 50 food. Mass expo. Once you're over 10 k gold, start building them Chims. I normally just build 6 Chim roosts, mass moon wells/APs, then wait for people to attack me. Normally I'll get up to a 30 k gold stash, perfect for rebuilding your Chims many a time.

Guys, Dawn of the Dead is officially amazing. I loved it so much more than the remake. It was a lot scarier as well. Very satirical, very post-apocalyptic, and all-around awesome. And the gore effects! Oh, man, were they good!
The pinkish blood was a little bit of a turnoff, though. Blood tends to look more purple when it thickens all in one place.

Pedro- Yeah, beleive it or not, no rims is actaully trendy... Back when front wheel drive drag racing was getting started, the racers were very under-funded, so to save money and a couple ounces, they would just take off the hubs and leave the exposed stock wheels in place. :-/
Blythe- I've never really seen why European sedans are so sought after. For the same money, you could get a faster car with better styling. For example, you can find a Toyota Supra in good condition for ~35k. They 350hp at the crank and under 4,000 lbs. Sweet deal. That's just me though.
Aaron- I can do the same, but with the statistics. Well, some of them for some cars, but I know wayy too much about sport compact cars.
Chris- I'd totally bone in the backseat of that! refl

Chris - I actually have a lot of friends that work at like bookstores/retail CD stores like Barnes and Noble, Sam Goody, FYE, etc.. they said they don't get that much of a discount (like 20% or something), but it's a real easy job that pays over min wage.
Nah.
20% is a lot, that's what I get at the grocery store. Saves a ton of money. That is food and not CDs though.

Another high point of tonight: I got a beer at a restaraunt...me and my stepdad stopped at Cornwall's (a bar/grill near Fenway) before the game, and the waitress came to us and asked us what we wanted to drink. My stepdad ordered a Guinness. I said, "I'll have a Coke" and she was like, "A Corona?" (she must have thought I said it) so I replied, "Yeah". Then without a hitch I got it. Didn't even get carded

If she wasn't allergic to so many foods, she would weigh 500 pounds like the mom in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" and then she would die and my family would have to set fire to our house with her body still in it :(

Just out of curiosity, does anyone here play WCIII: TFT?
I used to play a lot, before world of warcraft came out. When i did play i was Ermordennj on both US east and the Europe server, depending on where i was living at the time, and was a huge addict to playing Footman Frenzy matches. now im just playing WoW all day every day (well that and writing papers because its the end of the semester)
I'm pretty sure 16's legal.
16 is the age of consent, only if the guy is 18 or younger. The girl is not totally legal until she is 18
My car \m/ (http://www.wecu.com/admin/documents/uploadimages/FordEscort_96.jpg)
Bwhaha, my friend used to have an Escort, we called it The E. It was the biggest hunk of junk ever. If you took it over 65mph it started shaking violently. The reason he got rid of it was one day he went out to go to work and one of the wheels had just fallen off.
My car is a 91 Camaro, it is the bomb, and if i wasnt 4k miles away from it id upload a picture for you. Sheer gas sucking power.
I love Kings.
Drinking Pool is fun, too.
i HATE kings, i find it real boring, too long, and not enough drinking for a drinking game. On top of that my friends play it real stupidly. Like in the questions round you dont have to ask a question that somehow relates to what was asked to you. I have seen them do questions for 70 minutes without anyone messing up because they play you can just ask any question. Like one kid would just point to stuff and be like "is that blue?" or "is that green?" just changing colors. Then when he ran out of things or colors to point at he would be like "do you know someone named John?" and just change the names.
So stupid
However drinking pool is amazing.

beats me, im not actually a german, i am an american. From what i understand it is required to take a foreign language here in germany starting at a rather young age, and MOST germans take english, but a few opt for french instead.
The thing is, the german youth really really wanna be like americans, it is kinda crazy, hence why so many take english. Like if you took a 14 year old american girl and a 14 year old german girl and stood them next to each other, they would look the same. Same clothes, hairstyle and color, etc... And on trains and stuff i always hear younger kids listening to like 50 cent and saying stuff like "i cant wait to learn more english so i can understand what hes saying" and stuff like that.

Yes, it's flemmish, but flemmish is not a real language you see, it is the name of the dialect;you were told right, but the official one is dutch. Jelle is a classmate of mine, and he likes to nitpick, believe me :):)

3 hours per week isnt much, at my university back in the states when you take a language its 4 hours a week, and in high school we had 50 minutes a day 5 days a week.
Difference was, as opposed to Europe where you have a ton of languages and can actually hear and use the one youre learning on occasion, in the US, you will never use the language outside of the classroom, at least not in the state of NJ, and especially with a language like German.

Eh even if your pronunciation sucked i would be able to understand you because of my greek grandfather:
1) he had an extremely thick greek accent
2) he had been smoking for at least 60 years, so had a huge cough and it made his voice much more grainy
3) he mumbled when he talked
if you can understand that, then no accent is too thick or too hard to understand!

I just saw an advert for the broadcast of Live8, when they were showing the acts that were performing. Everyone got mentioned, that is, except Pink Floyd. Even KingMoron Bono and U2 got mentioned, but not a single sign that Pink Floyd were reuniting! What. The. Hell...
Also, my favourite skit show just had two of the best skits I've seen in a long time. One was a send up of the amazing race, and they really took the piss out of the Yanks. It was hilarious. They also did a skit set in the wild west, with a cowboy trying to track down a Mexican bandit, called Hernandes Rico Fajiita Burrito Romero Sancho Taco Luis Tortilla Savona.
