Hey, look at us everyone. We pointlessly changed time signatures again. How original are we.
That's very incorrect about Tool, they rarely just switch time sigs. Usually they just start in an odd one and flow into a regular one. You're thinking of Dream Theater. I love Dream Theater just as much as I love Tool.

I own Lateralus, and it has little/no appeal to me anymore mainly because :

I stopped listening to music just because it was 'complicated.'

Shcism and Lateralis both have no groving value atall, they are just not pleasent on my ears.

Anyways, while Opeth are no longer considered as innovative or special as I felt they were when I first got into them, they are still a very capable and high-quality band that has opened my mind to a great deal of heavy music I once dismissed as totally talentless noise. You'll never catch me trying to say "Opeth R leik teh most exTREME!!1!! TALENTD BAND EVER!" but will I say that they are totally badass and deserve most of the massive worship they get? **** yes.

Well, as far as vocal versatility is concerned, I wish there were more Mikael Akerfeldts out there. So much decent screaming gives way to such ****ty singing. And this is not a fanboy speaking either. His voice is one the few genuinely skilled, pleasant voices I feel exists in a heavy music spectrum.

So I am about five minutes away from home and call her to tell that I was going to end it all and she got hysterical so ****in quickly, she was like we'll get you help, just don't kill yourself, for the love of god don't kill yourself! Then I HUNG up on her, and to her surprise pulled up an hour later after going to Chili's for a nice steak.

That's something very shaky to base a relationship on. No offense or anything.

I know. :(

I tend to get with odd girls though. They're usually very pretty, but very crazy. I've had one girl cheat on me several times at once (cheating on the guy she was cheating with cheating on another guy she was cheating with cheating on another guy etc...), I've had another girl try to kill me, another one try to beat me with a raw fish (yes, this is not a joke) and there are just too many stories to tell beyond that point.

I'm trying to figure out how to either a) make the downloads go faster or b) know how to resume a download after it craps out.

I'm on a 112kbps DSL, but it's more like 11.2kbps dial-up. It's just a glorified phone line... but like I say, this connection is better than no connection, really.

Anyways, so I go to YSI to download the .zip file.

I always choose "Save to Disk" or whatever and let it download to the desktop. After awhile, it just craps out.

So then I tried "Open With... WinRAR" and it still craps out.

The tricky thing here is that sometimes, when I go back to the YSI link, it will resume the download every so often. It's really weird.

Advice/suggestions/links would be appreciated :(

That really sucks. Every once in a while my DSL connection dose that but it hasen't in a long time. Actually I don't think it hasen't happened since I got my new modem. Maybe thats the problem. But I don't know

Wintermute (and maybe others, I don't know) encountered a glitch of some kind a week or so ago which replaced the  smiley with CJS's Bruce Willis gimmick's avatar. Those are the screenshots he used to try and prove it to the rest of us (and the last one is indeed a post in the mod forum, so enjoy).

SUCCESS!!!!!!!

I am now courting two job offers: A babysitting gig for two boys 10-15 hours a week at 10 dollars/hour (including extra compensation for gas--how awesome is that?) and and morning breakfast server gig at a local hotel/inn, 7 bucks an hour plus tips from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., five days a week. I must say, getting your job over with that early in the day is pretty sweet. :D I have interviews today and tomorrow...let's hope they go well. :-/

Also, I unfortunately was required to lie by omission in order to secure the interview for the inn. They asked if I was looking for a job on a more permanent basis, or just temporary. Given my total lack of luck when I was honest and informed potential employers that I would be returning to school, I did something my dad suggested: inform them that I was not planning on returning to school if I did not have enough money. Half-truth. I have every intention of returning to school, but I do really need money to do so. I kind of felt bad. I suppose we'll wait until I get the job to cross that bridge.

Ah. I'm starting to look for a job in the fall. Right now I babysit for my friend's 2 little siblings. Babysitting pays real well, just because parents are trusting you so much, and when you become their regular babysitter, they trust you more and will give you more $$$.

As for my fall job (maybe) I could get a job like as a desk clerk at my mom's hospital. Other than that, I'm applying to Starbucks or a CD store, bieeeeetches.

Starbucks is a corporate beast. Don't give your time and effort to them. Give it to the CD store. :)

Yeah, but with Starbucks, since they have so much money, they'll PAY you lots of money. People I know there start out $11/hour. Umm so yeah. Definately gonna be applying there.

CD Store I would love though.. hooray music!

$11 an hour, thats really good

Mr. Squiggles

It is an art within itself, I don't know if I have the time to explain it all, but here goes.

You all know the rules of basketball, I'm assuming. Well **** them. In the game of moshketball, it doesn't matter who plays, just as long as they know they're going to get ****ed up for sure. The game starts with one player tossing the ball at the backboard, and then a struggle for the ball begins. Shoving, open hands, and tripping are all encouraged. You must do whatever it takes to get the ball.

If somebody makes a shot, they go to the free throw line. Like regular basketball, they already have 2 points from the shot made. Every player on the court also stands beside the paint, waiting for their chance to grab the ball. If the player makes the shot, woohoo, they get the point. They can make as many shots as they can, until they finally miss a shot. Losers. The most a player could get up to is 21, and they win. Usually nobody wins because they die before they can make 21.

Now, say a player misses a shot (I'm talkin' airball, buddy) and another player, nonchalantly standing behind the hoop catches the ball. If they are near any foaming on the gym's walls, anybody could yell mosh, and the little sucker will scream for his life as a substantial amount of crazy metalheads, most of them weightlifters, come charging at him. The mosh will last until somebody gets the ball, and then an attack will be made on him.

It's that simple.

There you go thats moshketball

This sentence is bullshit. This sentence is bullshit.

Geometry, while being one of the easiest mathematics courses if you know the shortcuts, is NOT that vital to your overall education. Really.
