And i agree with you, its hard to stand there and watch a woman crying... I was rather unsure of what to do earlier in the week when we were looking at my 8 month olds grave, she died of menengitis earlier this year, I dont really get emotional, but she does, I just gave her a hug, promised it will all be ok.. There is not really much more you can say though...

Do you have a job? Do you plan on going to college?

Are you ready to support yourself and a wife, both financially and emotionally?

You're 17, you have no idea what love is, you have no idea what you want or need in a woman and in a relationship. Sounds like you're just getting hitched to the first girl who ****ed you.

Its almost impossible to understand, its as simple as that, and besides, Love is only a feeling some say.. We all have our own views on what love is, and when i get that warm loving feeling when she is near me, and when she makes me happy, in my eyes that is love,,,,

Testosterone/Estrogen going haywire, growing older and experimentation, etc.

Some can handle the maturity, others need to take a couple bumps and bruises before understanding things. It depends, I guess.

I'm mature enough to handle it. But I'm 17! I don't want to support my family by working overtime at Mickie D's! It might feel right emotionally, but why get yourself and your future family into such financial trouble. It's irresponsible.

I am having sound problems as you know, I can get little snippets here and there, but from what i heard it seemed like a very good track A*
I think all you really need to do is just try and tighten up the bass a little, and try to neaten up the vocals, and its amazing.

Sounds good to me, I have been inventing some amazing intro riffs recently, I have played riffs to certain musicians and they have all really liked them.... (Strange when a drummer plays cool riffs on guitar)!

I have done a song that is based on Metallica's - Fade to Black, i have been told by hardcore Metallica fans it kicks ***, as soon as i can i will get a link posted :D

Mebbe...we have to make it short enough that people will read it, but informative at the same time. El Shizzy already did one in punk, but I think we'll try to cater this more to bands R&Mers are likely to be into.

No one's at absolutely no fault, as we're not trying for a 0% spam rate... just because that'd be impossible. Page after page of one- and two-word posts and responses, with only a small percentage of it all carrying any meaning, is stupid though. Especially since it can be confined to a chatroom, which we kind of have set as "mxrockandmetal", don't we? I'm not sure, since I haven't been in one for ages.

It's not just the spam, and the <10-word posts, though. It's also that people seem to come here (to R&M) more or less for the sole purpose of posting in this thread, and chatting with everyone else.

This is what Bossman said. If the chat is starting to turn towards informal conversation, then this thread will be closed.

Hah, waffles. There are two kinds (that are popular here), the ones called waffles from Liège, they are really sugary, so you don't put anything on it, you eat them just like that. Then you have waffles from Brussels, who are just really different, they are longer, the dough is much crispier and they're best with lots of whip cream.

If we ever find anything in them, we have to corden off the area immediatly, as one person got big by a spider once in the same exact store, and dropped unconsious...
So now its law to call specialists immediatly, Well anyways, apparantly, someone put loads of fake rubber spiders in the bananas and when my manager wen't to give them a tidy on the shop floor one stuck to his hand, he then freaked out, threw his arms about, it then flew of and stuck to his eyelid LMAO, That would have been one hilarious site to see!!!

My roommate is blasting Dashboard Confessional, and I hate that crap.

Do I a) put my headphones on and prepare for another bitching out (note: I would use force if necessary this time (;)), especially after the crap he pulled last night), or b) tough it out until 24 comes on and that takes precedence because it's my TV.

Meh, it's all good :)

I care. That is what differentiates me from the beasts of the wild. Intellect, courage, love, friendship, compassion, and empathy...each of these qualities was as important to the human species as all the others...some people thought only intellect counted: knowing how to solve problems, knowing how to get by, knowing how to identify an advantage and then seize it. All were important factors that had contributed to the ascendancy and supremacy of humankind, yes, but the many functions of intellect are insufficent without courage, love, friendship, compassion, and empathy. I care. It is my curse. It is my blessing.

Various online stores (mainly Amazon, Supernal and lasercd), and then just any CD store I can find in whatever area I'm in at the time. Unfortunately that usually that means just HMV and Virgin Megastore, but provided it's not metal I'm looking for, they're both decent places to go.

Occasionally (not as often as I'd like), independent stores (mostly stalls, either at Uni or the market), which often have a very good (non-metal) selection.

I live in a ridiculously boring city, and I have to go about 10-15 minutes away to Long Beach for a Tower Records.

Tower Records is meh, alright, but only good for mainstream/semi-mainstream/and metal that is about as rare as In Flames and such...

I live quite aways out of Portland, and it is in the Downtown Portland area which adds another good 10-15 miles to my trek.

And when I am looking for something specific I hate digging and the store is a mess when it comes to trying to find stuff quickly. Especially not worth is when you go searching for say Behemoth or Arcturus for 10-15 minutes all together and they have neither, as in never carry them. So meh, not my thing really. I did find a Vintersorg cd and snatched it up quickly since it was their only one.

Edit : And the reason to why I don't like searching it, is the fact that they have all the genres mashed together. So say you are looking for a metal album, you will be looking through : punk, rock, jazz etc etc artists at the same time.

Essential Punk Bands: According to Me:

A lot of the bands that are really popular around here arent bands that a beginner would like. You should try some old-school thrash:

Metallica
Megadeth
Slayer
Anthrax
Pantera(not really thrash)

Or some Metalcore:

Killswitch Engage
Unearth
Lamb of God(not really metalcore)

Well, the SP arn't really historically important, IE they weren't really the first punk band to come out and revolutionize everything, but John Lydon was the only member I liked anyways, and the only reason to listen to the band. He was a great frontman.

Actually, they were one of the founders of punk, so I would say they have some historical importance.

When I hear the word punk, I think of Ramones, Sex Pistols, and the Clash.

But that's just me, I don't listen to much punk.

Sex Pistols didn't found punk at all, they joined in after the craze had already initially began. Although, they might have taken punk further and made it more mainstream than the previous punk bands.

Really? I would have said that they were incredibly important; they weren't the very first, but then it's not often that there is a definitive very first band to do something. The Pistols, along with The ****ed and The Ramones (I think) basically kickstarted the idea of punk, so I'd say they're worthy of being called important. I'd also say they're not worth bothering with to actually listen to, though.
