I like how Bobo strategically left the thread when three people asked him to provide an Octavarium upload :(

Hello, everyone.

I also have a couple questions. I know very well that A&I would be a better place to ask this (well, the music aspect of my question, anyway), but hopefully you guys will give me an idea or two.

A girl friend's birthday is coming up in June, and the general rule I have is that if a birthday-celebrator is having a get-together/shindig/party, then I have to bring a[n inexpensive because I'm cheap and don't want to give anyone the wrong idea] present over.

The only problem is, this girl is going to be very hard to buy for because... well, she hates everything. Well, not everything, but she's not like a girly-girl where I can go to Bath and Body Works and pick out random lotions, but I'm not saying she's beastly, either. She's a very artsy girl, though, and that drives me nuts because I cannot draw stick figures in motion to save my life.

So, first question: any ideas for a[n inexpensive] present I can get her?

Please do not say, "Put it in her butt lol"

Second question: she listens to a lot of music, but it's all very "scene" (The Faint, Bright Eyes, Of Montreal, etc.). Usually for people I burn them a random CD of things, because usually I send them stuff ahead of time to get a more general idea. Well, I've struck out, because three songs I've sent over have been vetoed... because she basically hates everything. So, any ideas for music along her favorite bands's lines?

I'm beginning to think that I should fake an illness or hope that I have to work on the night of the shindig.

Because my connection is so crappy, you don't have to go through with that. She has about 234720384 artists she likes on her Facebook profile, so I don't want to give some random CD to her and have her say, "Um, hi. I've heard all these before" because that is EXACTLY how she'd react.

You're under no rush to upload it, though, for the following reasons:

1. I have to send that Polish girl two albums

3. I tried downloading 2112 from YSI from Eitri is Berserk and my connection kept crapping out on me, thus not me being able to get the album

It's like a warm shower in prison in some ways.

But most of all, it is the singlemost best game EVER invented.

We're all thinking of doing a wall of death to start the game; divide into sides, then have the PE coach throw the ball into the middle. It'd be pandemonium. PANDEMONIUM, I SAY!

ICB, care to explain how this Moshketball is played? I want to play it so badly I'm shaking.

It is an art within itself, I don't know if I have the time to explain it all, but here goes.

You all know the rules of basketball, I'm assuming. Well **** them. In the game of moshketball, it doesn't matter who plays, just as long as they know they're going to get ****ed up for sure. The game starts with one player tossing the ball at the backboard, and then a struggle for the ball begins. Shoving, open hands, and tripping are all encouraged. You must do whatever it takes to get the ball.

If somebody makes a shot, they go to the free throw line. Like regular basketball, they already have 2 points from the shot made. Every player on the court also stands beside the paint, waiting for their chance to grab the ball. If the player makes the shot, woohoo, they get the point. They can make as many shots as they can, until they finally miss a shot. Losers. The most a player could get up to is 21, and they win. Usually nobody wins because they die before they can make 21.

Now, say a player misses a shot (I'm talkin' airball, buddy) and another player, nonchalantly standing behind the hoop catches the ball. If they are near any foaming on the gym's walls, anybody could yell mosh, and the little sucker will scream for his life as a substantial amount of crazy metalheads, most of them weightlifters, come charging at him. The mosh will last until somebody gets the ball, and then an attack will be made on him.

It's that simple.

..Star Wars...lame shot transitions (looked like a cheap news cast)

That's the point, isn't it? All the various wipes and such, it's like a trilogy in-joke.

Dancin' Man
05-27-2005, 08:06 PM
Probably was.

Yeah, I suppose but I think they look bad. I much prefer a dissolve or just a sharp transition. I did like the wipes made by pieces of the set. I just don't like it when you come out of the theater remembering specific transitions and how bad they were.

Especially Likely Sloth - It's Not Rocket Surgery, it's Bassaroni! (http://s45.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=09LKEZDD2HSKP12MHYGNR5LRHH)
Especially Likely Sloth - The Land Where Gods Eat Your Toast (http://s45.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=15GB698KPVU8K26T1BRJ6QW3LC)

Both of those tracks have samples of a certain famous someone's voice who you would not expect.

I will agree with the first thing you said there. I would have liked to know why he picked Vader, instead of just randomly saying it.
