Hey guys, I know I shouldn't have to remind anyone, and everyone's been doing a pretty good job of posting constructively and whatnot (and deleting posts that are substanceless), but as of late this thread is starting to lapse into spamaholica again, where the hello/goodbye posts are coming back, or the pointless one-liners, or "AIM-esque" posts...
... all that needs to go, please. Remember, essays aren't necessary, but this thread could use an improvement.
Thanks :)

Its this frog with a hat on that sings ringtones on your phone when u download him. He was also on the commercials that are like "just text frog to 556 666 to get this ringtone!". And hes the most annoying thing ever. Apparently a lot of people liked it so they turned it into like a techno song and everything else in england. Not here in the US much anymore though.
Hah, that is nothing.
Do you know nothing of Jamster? The Frog may be annoying, but is it racist?
And before you jump on my case, Jamster has downloadable ringtones such as:
"Where my baby's daddy at?" (in a black woman's voice)
"Yo dog, you phone's ringin'!"
I rest my case.

Not sure. I just thought Enochian wasn't something associated with Satan.
It's not, it's supposed to be the language of angels. However, as most demons in Hell are fallen angels, and if they were important enough, their names would be spelled out in Enochian and float above their bodies or heads as a sort of relic from when they were angels and a symbol of rank within Hell. Lucifer's sigil sometimes is ringed with his name in Enochian, although I took liberties in my illustration to make an elaborate sigil. In the drawing, the names "Lucifer," "Satan," and "Dis," all appear in Enochian, and the sumerian letters (the ones with the triangles) spell "Satan."

Yeah, that's what I thought (well, knew), language of the angels. For some reason I completely failed to make the link to fallen angels, though :) Sorry.

Chappelle is hilarious, he needs to get out of his mental institution (or wherever he is) and start filming season three.
I agree. I need to get the season 2 DVD.
On DC101, they were just talking about news around the country, and they said that Dave Chapelle is in rehab. Then he was like "Hopefully he gets out soon, because surburban white kids are confused as to which black celebrity to imitate now."
It was funnier if you heard it :/

Well, I went to a school where most of the people liked me, and I got kicked out and have to finish the year at a new one.
I said a stupid thing or two, and people got offended, and it occured to me that I shouldn't care about anybody there, cause in a month more the year would be over and I'll never see any of them again, so I started annoying/stalking people just to pass the time.

The storyline that my avatar is in for the WWE is that he "finds friends" at each event, and then he brings a kid from the stands to be in his corner when he wrestles (yeah, it's a roper, but still).

The persons house i egged (and poured milk through the letter box) were the 'Christians' who housed her, knew all about the adultry (she is supposed to be a christian too) and helped her trick my Dad out of a large cut of his salary, when he deserves every penny he earns, and the stupid slut should have got nothing.

We American men are good to our women. Well, we're supposed to be.
I quit my last job because they expected me to be on call all the time which meant I had to CALL THEM to see if they needed me. This made it very hard to make plans outside of work. Plus they were paying me minimum wage which wasn't enough to even shop there. The boss called me when I was supposed to call in to demand I come in so I told him to go **** himself and hung up. I was never officially fired, nor did I ever officially quit. I just got back from my first classical show ever.
Wow, it was amazing.
It was at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. That place is huge! It's 10 minutes from my house, and I have never even heard of it before.

That's what it looks like.
They played Mozart's Overture to the Marriage of Figaro, Rachmanioff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, and Elgar's In the South.
The Rachmanioff piece featured this pianist who was INCREDIBLE. She was born in 1987 in China, but you could never tell she was that young from her playing. Her name is Yuja Wang. She was a beautiful girl, as well.Thats pretty nice. I went to a classical show the other night, but unfortunately it was Bethoven. I wish they had played Paganini at the one I went to.

I've never taken to lessons.
Of course, I'm always the contrary, so don't listen to me.
You and me are like black and white, Ray...
Anyhoo, I grew up with classical music. My mom is a violin teacher (as well as a school librarian and despite what she says, not a teacher) and my sister has her masters in cello performance. My dad was a voice major in college until he dropped out. I played violin until I was 10 but quit because I hated it and my parents felt ballet was a suitable substitute.

I firmly believe that music talent is something that cannot be taught--it's like athletic ability; you're born with it or you aren't. I worked my *** off at piano for years but I still suck at it, yet I took to guitar and harmonica like a fish to water.
Hello everyone!
I just got back from the grand opening of the new Guitar Center in Jackson. There was a line to get in, and the first 1000 people in got free Guitar Center t-shirts (which were handed out by a trio of extremely hot chicks, one of which I knew personally :p ). There was live music outside, provided by a classic rock cover band. They did a great job! The singer did great on the Bob Seger stuff the band covered, and they did a great version of Dust In The Wind. There was also an Elvis impersonator there to help promote the new store, and IMO he had everything down *exactly*, right down the fancy hip movements and cheesy accent.
When we got inside, it was PACKED. Loads of people were testing out equipment, which was lying around everywhere for everybody to use (this night was a night where it was okay to be a showoff in a guitar store; it was so damn loud). One of the employees there saw my Testament shirt and told me he was a big fan of Alex Skolnick. We chatted, and I ended up getting a free pack of Dunlop Medium picks from him. He also let me play a cherry red '67 Gibson Flying-V (my dream guitar!) on a Line 6 half stack. Man, did that baby sound wonderful.
On the way out they were handing free energy drinks called "Rockstar" or something like that. It was in a huge can, and it tastes like Red Bull with about 5 times as much sugar and caffeine. Ick. I also got some goodbye hugs from the hotties that were handing out t-shirts (/me was pimpin').
Well, that was my night. I'm going to hit the sack.

Wow, nice. There aren't very many Guitar Centers near me, sadly.

I would have loved to see/hear that.

I probably would have passed on that, but that's still pretty cool.

That's pretty badass, scoring free **** is always a plus.

That does sound pretty gross, man.

Still thinking about the T-shirt hotties, eh? :p

There are a few guitar centers around here but I'm not too keen on them.

The new Dream Theater is awesome, any one else heard it yet?
The 24 minute beast of a song Octavarium does not match A Change Of Seasons, but it is still awesome. Also this album has only a few solos on it, well guitar wise, but there are plenty of keyboard solos.
Also there is alot more progressive feel to this album then their past albums, which also not basing it around how fast John can play really makes the song writing open up wide for them.
Guitar Center rips you off. The only reason I go there is for lessons.

Exactly...there are a lot of guitar stores in and around here that have better prices and even a better selection.
Also, the employees and customers are 100x less annoying.

The employees at Guitar Center are so fake and overly enthusiastic.

exactly...the doe-eyed nubs who shop there piss me off too.
EDIT: Yeah, there are doe-eyed nubs at every guitar store, but Guitar Center is like, their spawning ground.
Doe-eyed nubs, that's a new one haha
Uh, to give this post meaning, what's everyone doing this weekend?

Assuming the damn weather gets better.
Also, since I'm contractually obligated to mention my girlfriend, she's coming in on Sunday.

I am going down to Bend for the week end to go skeet shooting and ride dirtbikes/ATV's and do various other things that I can't think of right now.
We don't have Guitar Centre in Australia. And I am currently planning to go out clubbing tonight, work tomorrow then go to a mate's place for an afternoon barbeque. Then I'll do Uni stuff all Sat night, before crashing to have a lazy Sunday of housework, before going to work again. Then Sunday night I'll be able to veg out for a while.
Should be interesting, at least.

I haven't heard it, but if you'd be willing/able to provide an upload, I'd be interested in doing so.

Lucky bastard. I miss all my outdoorsman activities. I could shoot skeet and ride ATV's everyday and never get bored. I think I may go golfing today, just to get outside a little bit.
