Jerry Cantrell was a better vocalist than Layne Staley IMO (I know, not the popular opinion but deal with it) and a better lyricist too.

Also, DM, dang you're narcisstic. A photoshopped pic where you are about to make out with yourself? Damn, white boy.

oshi DM, are you going to take that from Madeline? (haha, "Madeline". What is this, Europe in 1830?)

So anyway, I burned the new NIN album from a friend and uh...I can't tell if it's any better than Downward Spiral or The Fragile.

I'm scared. My future as a vampire is on the chopping block. I have to stay late and meet with the boss today, and I have a bad feeling (due to rumors) that I'm going to get pulled off of night shift. After being on it so long I don't know how I could go back to days. It's like when soldiers come back from war and combat for a long time and just can't get back into normal life? The opening lines of said play:

Act 1

A single music note gets higher and higher in volume while the stage remains dark. When the note hits it's loudest, it stops and a single red spot light beams down on Elton, who is sitting at a desk with a typewriter. The sound of his fingers hitting the keys can be heard.

The Downward Spiral is definitely their best album, in my opinion. The Fragile suffers from classic double album problems, in that it's too long, and could have had stuff cut from it, without really losing much. With Teeth is growing on me, but I'm still undecided just how good it is, even though it has some really outstanding moments on. Right Where It Belongs is absolutely freaking incredible.

I prefer Pretty Hate Machine the most, which puts me in the minority (seems to be the pattern in my life)

So anyway, I finally did stuff with my friend today (and yeah, that chick IS his girlfriend...pretty hot, if I say so myself). At about noon-ish I got a hair cut (, nappy no more!) and then I went to his place and we smoked a bowl in his basement (his basement is the pwn, plus it had been a few weeks since I had smoked, I'm getting really sporadic about that) and generally just dicked around (watched "Clerks" the movie on DVD and jammed for a little while) and then went into Boston and went into all the guitar and used CD stores we could find

I had more to add, but my train of thought just derailed.

My guess is that in the end it will be between 2 of the following.

Peart

Flo Mournier, Whatsisname from Lykathea Aflame and Thomas Haake won't make it into the last 16.

A brillaint musician that was in a death metal jazz fusion band called Cynic, and he now resides in Oregon teaching music theory at Oregon State Univeristy and is still making music in the insturmental band Gordian Knot. He also plays many other insturments including The Chapman Stick.

Very talented bassist that will never get reconized by the masses blinded by Flea of RHCP's.

Two new Dream Theater songs for you people.

Also don't turn it down because it might be technical wankery, which these are not. One song does not even have a solo, and the other is a quick solo by the keyboard, and a 10 second solo by Petrucci and then back to a small keyboard bit and then it's over, not fret board wanking at all, so check it out NOW!

Winner of the best drummer poll: Portnoy or Carey. Without a doubt.

But, the others will give it their all I imagine. And why not have another poll, hehe. Keep things exciting.

So, University is still running full speed for me, so I am very short on the time needed to do some of the things I want to do on MX, but bear with me, as it'll all be over soon.

I just showed my friend that video of Leeroy Jenkins playing WoW, and he reckons his played with some of those guys before, heh.

"Also, after a long silence, Demons & Wizards returns with their second full-length album, titled "Touched By the Crimson King". It will be released June 27th, 2005. Once again, Hansi Kursch and Jon Schaffer joined forces to create a metal album that combines elements of Blind Guardian with elements of Iced Earth, though in the end it stands apart from either of their main bands. It will be released June 27th."

Bah.

I have seen clips of the movie on the new game for the ps2, and wow they got the same guys who played Anakin and Obi Wan in the second movie...and they cannot act...

So if they can't act...why did they pick them again? Why oh why?!

I am predicting that this movie will be ruined for me and other people due to the crappy acting as the second movie was.

Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) was good in Trainspotting but he hasn't been good since then.

Seeing Samuel L. Jackson in the first two was depressing. Talk about a fish out of water.

I avoided seeing the previous two in theaters and checked them out on DVD--they were both just two-hour toy commercials. Everything about them are train wrecks. The acting sucks (the chemistry between Natalie Portman and whatshisface was about as believable as Tom Cruise trying to convince the world he's straight), the writing sucks, the direction sucks. George Lucas has simply surrounded himself with yes-men who won't dare tell him he's incompetent as a writer and a director.

/does not plan on ever seeing the third one

On the subject of movies, I saw The Shawshank Redemption again (I'm sure i've seen it dozens of times in my lifetime, hell, I even based my college essay around it). Amazing, amazing movie. It will never get old--I was no less happy and surprised this time around than I was after seeing it the first time.

Yeah. I mean, I'd like to think that I am in a mature relationship. Me and her are certainly a more mature couple than a lot of other ones our age. I'm not sure why we click the way we do, but we seem a step ahead of other 18-year-olds in terms of how the relationship works.

Meh, it's the senior class president and a bunch of his friends trying to get me to go. Granted, he wants to see as many poeple there as possible because that;s his job, but we're pretty close so it feels more geniune. Plus my friends are disappointed I'm not going.

In terms of girls, I usually end up with really clingy ones that get way more attatched than I have any desire to be. Usually that's because I'm waiting for another girl to give me an opening (kind of a dick move to lead the others on, I know) but this time, the girl I'm with is the girl I've been wating for for a very, very long time. We'll see how things go. She's homeschooled and so has a different mind-set than most girls our age.

Me and my girlfriend have gone through a few rough patches (The Friend, "I'm pregnant") but we've patched them up. We handle ourselves very well. I know this isn't a passing fancy.
