At this point, it's pretty safe to assume who's going to make the lottery:
Atlanta
Charlotte
New Orleans
Utah
Golden State
Portland
Milwaukee
Toronto
New York
New Jersey
LA Clippers
LA Lakers
Orlando
Who should these teams, and the rest of the teams around the league, take?
My thoughts:
Atlanta: If they get the #1, trade down if Marvin Williams declares-with Childress and Smith, they don't need a wing player. Trade with the Jazz to get Boozer and their draft pick. If they keep the #1, pick Bogut. If they trade down, pick Martynas Andriuskevicius or Tiago Splitter
Charlotte: Get Marvin Williams.
New Orleans: Trade the pick to the Lakers for Caron Butler and the Lakers first round pick, use that to get Raymond Felton or Danny Granger. If they keep the pick, take Martynas Andriuskevicius, Fran Vasquez or Tiago Splitter
Utah: Attempt to trade Carlos Boozer to Atlanta or whichever other team will get the number one overall selection, unless Marvin WIlliams declares, in which case for the number two. Take Andrew Bogut. If that can't be swung, take DeRon Williams or Chris Paul in that order, depending on who's available.
Golden State: Trade up to get Bogut or Martynas Andriuskevicius. If they can't, draft Vasquez, Splitter or Taft.
Portland: Trade down with NJ to get a future draft pick and their choice, take Rashad McCants or Antoine Wright
Milwaukee: Take Gerald Green. Or, Splitter, Warrick or Aleksandrov
Toronto: Take Aleksandrov/Taft to team with Bosh in the frontcourt.
New York: Get Aleksandrov/Taft/Green
New Jersey: Trade up to take Splitter/Vasquez/Taft/Aleksandrov
LA Clippers: Take Danny Granger, Antoine Wright or Joey Graham
LA Lakers: Trade up and get Chris Paul or DeRon Williams
Orlando: Take Johan Petro. Yeah, I never would, but someone will and the guy might turn out to be decent. Otherwise, take Channing Frye or Hakim Warrick.
