Michael Corleone kicks your ***.
Probably my favorite movie of all time, and it's my favorite trilogy of all time. The restaurant scene and the baptism scene are probably the best scenes I've ever watched.
"You touch my sister again, I'll kill you."
"Leave the gun; take the cannolis."

Vito is cooler than Michael though.

I still need to see that film. :upset: I've seen Scarface and Goodfellas and I've heard Godfather is better than both of them.

Amazing movie. Especially for the time it was made in.

It depends.
Goodfellas is faster-paced and shows more of the pros of organized crime. Godfather was more like "the family", focused more on Italy, and was more about the cons.
Some people pick Goodfellas over Godfather also because they complain that Godfather is too slow and has some boring scenes. But imo, Godfather has so much depth into it that Goodfellas never had.
Different stokes for different folks.

I do like deep movies but I'll guess I'll have just to watch it to find out.

Read the book. It's much more respectable (sorta-ish).
My favourite scene in the movie is when Sonny (James Caan) beasts up ... ah, can't remember his name. carlo?
And is it just me, or is James Caan the perfect choice for Sonny?

The movie is awsome. I would read the book also.

I loved the restaurant scene with Michael, the cop, and the member of the other family. You can just see the anger in his eyes like this:evil:

Goodfellas and Scarface >>>> Godfather
I never really cared for the movie.

Exactly. It all a matter of taste.

That's what I love about the Godfather trilogy. The casting is some of the most perfect ever.
Al Pacino was originally going to be Sonny; isn't really right.
EDIT: actually, after thinking about it, he would've been great as Sonny

I thought of it as more of a nervous thing.
He slicks his hair back in the bathroom, his eyes dart all around before the big kill, and he looks just plain miserable.

It's been ages since I've seen the Godfather :(
Excellent film though. I'd place it above Scarface and Goodfellas, I think.

I bought the collection on DVD, the three and one extra bonus disc...about three or four years ago. I have yet to watch it...they've just been sitting ontop of the tv forever. The case is cool though so I don't mind.

Yeah, Scarface is good, but it seems overlong, and the Montana character gets annoying occasionally. Good film, though.
I'd place it above Goodfellas also, I think, because although it's a good film, I really don't like the ending much. Seems to be a recurring theme for me and Scorcese films.

Comparing Scarface and the Godfather is kinda like comparing Playboy and the Garden of Earthly Delights.

Exactly.
Scorcese films are awesome, but he could never do good endings.

It's a travesty that Pacino never won an Oscar for his Michael Corleone. Excellent movies, third film is good too.
