Ok One of the last good Horror movies I I saw was The Ring

I heard The Grudge was not all that

Has anyone seen "Saw" I heard that was a good one, what about any other good horror movies from the past two years?

Perhaps I have seen too many films, but Saw was so predictable it was not funny. It was competent but it felt like a Frankenstein's monster of several other films in feel and concept with nothing really to offer of itself that was new.
The grudge I have not seen yet so I can't comment.
The ring. I have seen the original Jap version, and was disappointed after the hype it recieved. Nothing groundbreaking really, merely a depiction of an urban legend style folk tale.
In fact I have have not been scared by a film in roughly fifteen years since I saw Nosferatu as a small child.

The Ring was somewhat lame. The only cool part was where the girl was found in the closet, and it was like she had been sucked dry and her skin was paper. That was unbelievably awesome.

I just finished watching Saw like 15 minutes ago. It was crazy. I think that the scenarios were all well thought out. There were a few twists that I could not predict, and for some of the parts I went all cold thinking "thats just not humanly possible." Then again, I dont watch many horror movies, I only rented Saw because I had a free Blockbuster rental and some guys at work recomended it.

I deffinately say you should see Saw

Saw was good (whoah...saw = was backwards). But the other ones were lame for all the hype. I still think the final twist in saw was unpredictable, but pretty lame. Other than that, everything was awesome.

I liked Saw, the ending was great.

The Ring (next to Signs), was the most overrated movie I've seen. I was forced to use my cd player in the theater I thought it was that bad.

Go into some Asian horror movies.

A Tale of Two Sisters is Chinese (I believe) and just plain weird, it's a mindscrew when the end is almost there on a key revelation. It's a great movie, with well acted roles, especially the main characters. Most notably The Father, Stepmother, Su-mi, and Su-Yeon.

The American version of The Grudge sucked. It tore away most of the suspensful build-up that is in its original. Ju-On: The Grudge was so much better than its American counterpart. The story isn't as jumbled as in the American version, it looks like they threw in some of Ju-on: The Curse in there.

NONE of the movies nowadays are scarry. It seems as tho the producers are trying to mix Slasher-esque type movies with horror movies, and whats resulting is about 10 minutes of both of them for a movie. They need to go with either or.

I think they neeed to think of a new genre name for all these movies like *Grudge, saw, the ring, ring 2* and whatnot. cuz they dont fit into either category. I was not horrified at all, except i was a little disturbed by the cat boy in the grudge that has an uncanny resemblance to my spanish friend javier...mangs..

anywayz, what im trying to point out is..no movies that came out in the last 2 years have really been GOOD horror movies..there more like drama with a little bit of blood thrown in ...meh.

Pretty much the only horror movie thats scared me was Halloween. And Blair Witch Project, but that was really lame when I rewatched it the next afternoon with the lights on and everything.

The Ringu and Ringu 2 (Jap version, I haven't seen the English version) were both really lame and not scary. Final Destination 1 was meh, but Slashers are generally lameee

I enjoyed House of 1,000 Corpses. It wasn't terribly scary, but its 70s throwback style was great.

I thought saw was pretty good. As for scary movies, I don't like very many, Main;y because it's the same monotonus crap and it's all been done before.

are you ****ing kidding me?... there's no way anyone could guess the outcome of that movie.. that's why it was one of the best horror flicks i've seen in a LONG time.. acting could have been better, but still an awesome movie.

btw.. ring was a horrible movie..

The acting in Saw was terrible, but the movie made up for it. One of the best endings I've ever seen.

I HATE it when people say this.

There have been plenty of great horror movies released recently, you just have to look for them. It's just like music, you have to look past the mainstream to find some really good stuff. Here are some examples:

The Eye
Dead End
A Tale Of Two Sisters
Dead Birds
Oldboy
Undead (Hard to find, but well worth the trouble)
Saw (Yes, I liked it. :)

And that's just off the top of my head. There's plenty of good, original undiscovered horror out there, you juts have to look for it.

I liked The Ring, The Grudge and Saw.

The Ring was a 2000 movie. But it was really good.

The Grudge was underrated because alot of people don't understand the different style's of horror. Ju-On sucked though, even though it was a good story.

Saw, I don't honestly see it as a horror, it had some gore, one little jump, nothing much horror about it. I found it to be a thriller, but I did LOVE it alot.

I've seen The Ring twO three times and was going to see it again a couple days ago, but I didn't get to. So that's twice that I've almost gotten to see it, so I would've seen it five times if those two times had come through. I thought it was amazing.

House Of 1000 corpses was a great film, wasn't scary but what got me was how f***ed up it was. If you weren't already insane then you would be after watching it. Rob Zombie done great work and has a great soundtrack.
