Great, great movie. One of the reasons I love De Niro so much. Travis Bickle is one of my favorite movie characters ever. Discuss.

One of DeNiro's best roles.

Robert De Niro's best performances:
1. Raging Bull
2. Taxi Driver
3. Godfather pt. 2
4. Awakenings
5. Casino
6. Heat
My God he's gone downhill in the last few years.

That was a great movie. It was a lot slower-paced than i thought it would be, though. Also, i think it would've been cool if the movie ended when he had his finger to his head and pretended to shoot himself. Still good movie the way it was.

SERIOUSLY amazing movie. Brilliantly directed, acted, the works. Great dialogue/mise-en-scene - everything. I'm not surprised it won so many awards.

Not only one of DeNiro's best movies, but Scorsese's best picture, as well.
The only thing I never got is *SPOILER*when Travis gets shot in the neck, he walks around fine, blowing everyone else to Hell, and even lives after all that. I'm no doctor, but I assume that a bullet to the neck would kill someone.*END SPOILER*. But, then again, that is one of the movie's charms.
Anyway, great, great movie.

I think that the part where he kills the pimp might just all be in his head. After all he has gone completely crazy.
This is my second favourite film of all time.
I have a theatrical poster of it on my wall

Fantastic movie. A theatre by my house is showing it tomorrow and Sat. night for only $3.75, I'm debating whether to go or not.

I'm gonna get one of those soon. I'm making a 'movie wall' (as I call it) on one of my walls of my bedroom, thats gonna be covered in film posters. It's just hard to chose which ones.

If it misses the major veins, oesophagus, trachea and spinal cord then you've got a good chance of survival.

Weren't they thinking of making a sequel?
Anyway, fantastic movie. I don't know what Scorcese needs to do to get a Best Film Oscar, but obviously producing consistently stunning movies isn't it.

I hope they don't make a sequel that would make the first one crappier.

Point taken...I'm going. Plus it's a theatre you can smoke in which makes it even better.

Didn't kill the narrator of Fight Club.

What an awesome movie. Probably one of my favorites. The best is towards the end when Travis is standing in the park watching that politician's speech. he looks so funny in the crowd alone smoking a cigarette and having that badass mohawk (punk points++ for the mohawk lolol!). Another good scene is probably the most famous scene from the movie, when he puts his bloody fingers to his head and does the gun "sound effect."

Well, if movies and violence on TV have taught me anything, a bullet through the back of your head usually equals instant death, or at least paralysis.
I loved Fight Club, and frankly, I thought it would have been much more of a poetic ending SPOILER
...had the narrator died along with Tyler.
END SPOILER

I thought the bullet in Fight Club went through his cheek.

In fight club it came out in his cheek i think. Not fatal.

Actually the bullet hits his jaw bone and flies out of his mouth. You can see the bullet if you slow it down.
It's pretty cool.

I loved this movie, the end sequence just makes it worth the watch. I particularly like how the movie shows us the development of his craziness. As someone said, his mowhawk is kickass. Well i was watching TV one time and a guy fell and a snooker cue went through his neck and he survived so i don't see the difference between a little bullet and long piece of wood...

This is probably my favorite movie. It's amazing how easily the average person can relate to such a story, even though most people haven't had any experience to truly mirror it.
And quit whining about unrealistic violence. Just be entertained, moved, etc, and forget about what really goes on in your life. The idea that no one would want to watch everyday life is a big reason movies exist the way they do.
