well i depends what u want it for!
if its for pa use, sure, u wont really need to mic up the drums unless ur playing sumwhere big
do u plan on mic'ing up all instruments? i wouldnt reccomend this unless u have a fairly decent p.a.
ide look into something more like this
http://www.behringer.com/UB2222FX/index.cfm?lang=ENG
alot of room for expansion and they are relitivly cheap too, not sure how much in Aus$$ tho.
oh and about the power, u would need to get a transformer to run it at 110v, again not sure what v u guys have down there
hope this helped:)

well what type of p.a do u own? size speakers, amps etc
if u plan on micing up your guitar amps bass amps drums and vox and squeezing them thru a 100w pa with 2 12" speakers then it wond really sound nice, whatever mixer u get....
u get me?

that quite a nice set-up there but quite expensive,
what guitar amps / bass amps do u have??
400w is nice for the two tops, but if u intend to mic up the bass guitar and bass drum, i would suggest to you getting some bass bins to go under your tops.
thats my opinion.
now thats quite alot of money to be spending on a p.a that maybe u might only get to use when jamming, i dunno about over there but here in ireland, most venues now a days have an in house pa, and if we are goign somewhere that doesnt have a p.a you can rent on out relitivly cheaply

THe main reason we wanted this was to use it at gigs. because it hought it would be wasier to jus tbring out own ****, since we would be mor efamilliar with it, and have it already set up.
Um, we hae the following stuff atm: Maybee you coudl reccomend what we would need to add to it so that we could gig and get a nice sound .LIke DI boxes etc..
Marshall 30w Guitar amps
Roland Bass Cube Bass Amp
Drum Kit
Drum Kit microphones (7 piece Ashton (with 2 condensors)
2 Guitar Microphones. (Behringer)
2 Vocal Microphones (Senhieser and Behringer)
Behringer Un-powered UB1832FX mixer desk. http://www.behringer.com/UB1832FX/index.cfm?lang=ENG
thats what we have so far...
thanks amy:)

yeah i see what your saying, if u want to shell out on a p.a then go for it i can give u my advice on one but what i personally would do would be to buy maybe bigger guitar amps.
if a place has a house p.a usually they have an in house engineer...but if ur renting, u can usually go in and play around with the pas first to get the hang of them then u could rent out the same one all the time, that way ude be familiar with it.
ok for a p.a firstly i would upgrade ur mixer to somthing like this
http://www.behringer.com/UB2442FX/index.cfm?lang=ENG
then ide get 2 one 400w poweramp to power my top speakers, liek the ones u showed me earlier, about 12" speaker cone and a horn.
then ide get a 500w poweramp to power my bass bins. at least 18" speaker cone, get yourself a crossover to split the signal to each of the amps and your away.
this is more than enough power and has enough scope to allow u to shape ur sound.
oh and maybe invest in a set of monitors....but then this is just if money was no object!
as for micing the drums, what size is the kit, often snare, bass and two overheads can be more than enough...especially in smaller venues.
gt yourself a nice di box for the bass guitar, behringer make a nice cheap and chearfull one
and as for guitaramps, Shure Sm57's are the undistry standard, but theres plenty of companies making some decent knock-off out there..
and ur gonna need a van to lug it all around!!
hope this helps.....liek i said b4 ide use the money to invest in bigger amps (unless there tube amps, then ide say its plenty) and look into renting.
What pa have u get right now??

that should be fine. you would have to use a seperate mixer for the drums if you were micing them up anyway, which is the norm.
