So I watched the Japanese version last night whilst pretty stoned.

Is it actually classed as a horror film? It was about as scary as Shriek...


Is the American version any better? I'm thinking its like comparing Balzac to the Misfits?

It's because people don't know how to pay attention and are used to their 14 second attention span.

Some of the best psycho-terror movies are those that develop their characters before and of the terror.

A thorough knowledge and enjoyment of the first film would be required to make the second film relevant and understandalbe.

Like I say, you would have to like and understand the first film thoroughly if you want to enjoy the second. I know people who dont "get" the first Ring film.

real horror films are not about the blood or the murders or the gore etc. that is 'american' horror. Ring is 'clever' horror

Me thinks it's scary how the yanks are making such terrible films... and people call them good...
tis also scary how they eat mcdonalds for breakfast...
