ah, writing songs is something you can't really be taught how to do.

my best advise would just be to know your theory, and practise. the more songs you write, reocrd to your pc/multitracker, listen to yourself, critique yourself and thenmove on, the better you'll get.

its hard to write under deadlines. to begin with, just write songs for yourself, not sitting in a rehearsal room and deciding you're gonna write somehting in the next half hour with your band.

A bit of advice is to not stress over getting a song perfect

Say to yourself, I know what the verse is gonna sound like / chorus etc

Then dive into it, record the whole parts, improvising parts you dont know / haven't written yet

A lot of the time it will work for the better and sound full of raw vibe

(You might have to have a few years playing behind you to pull this off successfully, hopefully you won't need to:))

Good luck

When I write a song I usually start with a raw rhythm. A simple one like 1-2-3 1-1-2-3 then, I add simple lyrics like--to continue the example,

Come to me,
Why don't you come to me

then I just take it from there. I write grunge/alternative so I don't know about other styles, but I can't see why it wouldn't work.
