how can I get the best quality out of my computer. this is my setup.

a sm-58 mic against a f 50 mesa boogie. the mic goes into my presonus preamp and the out put goes into the input of my computer. I record through adobe audition. the quality is okay. you can listen to my band. www.purevolume.com/harborlight . but is there anything I can do without spending a ton of money cause Im running out, heh. thankyou and dont make fun of my band please. and the drum quality doesnt sound too good because we had to put it on my 4 track, then into my computer. thankyou again

there's plenty of thorough articles on drum micing. but in short, start with 1 or 2 condenser overheads and oplay with them, then add close-mics, first kick then snare.

about the recording - thats what i call BOXY drums!

hurray for cardboard!
