The first game wasn't that good, so probably very little.

Well if you loved the first one then you will love the third one! My friend who is a big DMC fan said that the third isn't as good as the first but rivals it! If that makes any sense to you!

The second was poor, so im a little reluctant to buy the third.
But i've heard some very promising reviews.

2. Hard.
1. Very.
Or so I have heard, think I'm gonna pick this up after RE4, and RE4 comes after I have completed The Wind Waker.

the third one is amazing...very difficult though
especially on heaven and hell mode...1 hit kills everything, including you
there are a lot of different amazing things you can do in this one, including learning different fighting styles, and there are a lot more weapons. I highly reccomend it.

Does it still take like 5 hours to complete like the second one?

No. I'm on like 24 hours and I'm on mission 17. Of course I took forever because I played on normal which is mad hard. Does anyone know how many more levels I have to beat?

This game is so amazing, I love it
Yea, it has a pretty steep learning curve but once you get by that it's the best action game ever (for right now)
I have a total of 36 hours under my belt and I have completed the modes Easy, Normal, Hard, almost done with Dante Must Die, and I have only Trickster and Royal Guard up to level 3
Best DMC game in the series IMO, a must buy

What's so great about Royal Guard? Is it any good on level 2 and 3? Also how many missions are there? I'm on mission 17 right now and I wanna beat it!!!!

20 missions
Royal Guard is best style hands down, ask anybody that's good, you can block any shot, ANYTHING
Once you get to level 20 and face Vergil 3, I can beat him without getting hit in under a minute, that's how good it is

Watched them played, I can never understand how people get into those games. Way to repetitive and goofy for me at least.

I guess these games aren't your style eh? :p

Nope
It's wierd though, there just doesnt seem to be enough content and replay factor to warrant a purchase. When I buy a game I want something I can come back to many many times.

Repetative
Someone's never played DMC1.
And someone has also never played DMC3. Me. :(

Na I played it with my uncle for awhile, same ole run jump and shoot. Even back in the day I didnt like those back on NES like ninja gaiden and those games. Ahh well each their own I guess. Im just waiting on chaos theory and swat 4

Haha man if you're calling DMC 1 repetative then I'm calling Riddick and Chaos Theory repetative. I mean all ya do is go around killing people.
Double Bass Jim

True, at least chaos theory is fairly open ended in the approach. Riddick was free so I can't complain there :)
As far as actually buying games i'll only buy ones that have extremely high replay level like strategy games or sims. The new silent hunter III is a good example, games incredible.

I loved the first one.
The title of this one makes me think of a guy picking on Satan.

I wouldn't call DMC 3 that repetative considering you do you have different styles (Trickster, Royal Guard, Swordsmaster, Gunslinger) and 2 others I don't want to spoil but their huge amounts of fun to mess around with.
But people have opinions on games.

I still need to rent it, but our blockbuster only carries one.
