Well in the past i have had problems. I figured out that i need to mic up my amp because the mic input didnt work as a line in. Now i went to record for the mx improv in guitar but i can barely hear myself in playback. Anyhelp guys. KKKKKocaine or moaner or anyone else with exp in that program.

I think u need a DI box and some sort of interface, the little line in on ure comp usually isnt good enough, because it gives a really weak sound as you said

how car you currently recording? with a dynamic mic into the mic in?
this is as you say far too quiet. you need a mixer or a pre-amp to plug into the line in for it to work.

a mixer has mic-pres anyway, doesen't need to be powered. get a micpre or any kind of mixer. you get people continously plugging the mic straight into their computer, That's not what it's designed for
I suggest this:

Actually, it is, but not really. Most computer mic ins have a mild mic-pre built in, and they rely on extremely low impedences to get their low fidelity sound. That's why you can get loud, audible sounds using a cheap computer mic.
Mic-pres take the low signal, low impedence signals f/ microphones and normalize them to line level. If you use a mic-pre w/ your mic input on your computer, you're liable to get clipping and other distortion problems.

hgowever, using it into the line in would give nice results.
