There is the iStudioLink Microphone cable.

And the iStudioLink Insrument cable.

If i use the mic cable can I just mic my amp? and if I use the Instument cable hook up throug pedals dose it sound really bad?
When using Mic's you need a mic pre-amp for it to sound decent.
But for going from the Mic pre to the line in, it'll be usefull.
Again, unless your Effects pedal is a pre-amp, you'll need a pre/cab sim before going into your computer. But again, that cable will be good for linking the pre/cab sim into your line in.
I can guarentee one of these will be cheaper though.

Ok thanks. How much does a good pre-amp cost?
Would this one work?

Yes, that would work well for the Mic's.
I would get something like this:

And you could use it with your guitar effects aswell, I think atleast.
Guitar>Fx pedal>Pre-amp>Computer.

Thanks.
Is there anything else I will need to record from a mic?
Not really. A Mic stand will probably be usefull.

wouldn't sound fanstastic, but it'd be quite useable.
Aye, a cab sim would be needed for a decent sound like that.

what is a cab sim and how much do they cost?
A Cab sim would make it soud like you were playing through a 4x12 that was mic'd up or something.
I don't know about cost, my PODxt has got one built in so i don't have to worry about it.
