Hi,

I'm looking for the cheapest way for me to record two guitars, a drum machine(that i don't have), and vocals(i don't have anything for that either).

I was thinking that I could get a guitarport from line 6 to record the guitars through my computer, which is a pentium 4 133mhz, 128mb sdram, if that helps.

I don't really know what to do to record a drum machine, and vocals, and how to get that all together with the guitar parts. I really don't know much at all about recording. Is there some kind of program that I can get, or some kind of device?

I'm essentially looking for the cheapest way. and i guess it won't be too bad for my black metal/ thrash sytle...

Thanks.

get a mixer if your pc has an ok soundcard. pluf the line out of the mixer into the line in of your pc.

you can hook up a mic, a drum machine or any line or mic level source into your mixer, includning a mic from a guitar amp or the signal form an amp modeller.

powered mixers are only for PA systems right moaner? do they eliminate the need for a PA amplifier?

its a great all round mixer. its not big enough to mic up a full drum kit, guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, vocals and backing vocals, but it wasn't designed to be that big.

you could always plug another mixer into the line ins to make it bigger in the future.

if you want true-to-life drums, try with garageband, if you can get the feel correctk, its the closest you'll get on a computer. nothing like a real drum track though.

You're probably better off finding someone local that can play drums. It just will sound much better.
