I just saw this movie last night, and fell in love with it. Although it seemed like to get some of the jokes you had to know about most of the music they were talking about, but luckily I did.
The best parts were the scenes that took place in the record store, which, so happens, all had Jack Black in them, who played the part of the music elitist nicely, and was hilarious.
This is my new favorite music-related film, (previoulsy held by Wayne's World 2). Highly recommended.

BTW, the cameo by Springsteen was great. Put a big smile on my face. :)

Great movie, great book. Solidified my respect for John Cusack, and was so good that even Jack Black's presence couldn't destroy it for me.

Yeah, I actually thought Jack Black was pretty well suited to his role.

Yep, brilliant film, one of my favourites.

April 20th holds special significance, though.

Catherine Zeta-Jones taking her top off will always get me to watch a movie.

SLF I knew, but it was what prompted me to check out The Beta Band (and Ryuichi Sakamoto, but I've so far been unsuccessful in actually hearing him).

I think I heard somewhere that the vinyl record collection in Cusak's apartment is really his own, which if true, is mighty impressive.
