hey, i should be touring with my band this summer and i wanted to know what mic u guys think i should get to do so...my budget is quite low, so like i'm talking an E-bay job to get one...i don't know if that changes much but i play kinda from autumn to ashes meets funeral for a friend music, so like it's mostly singing with some screaming through it...i was thinking something in the range of like 100 dollard/euros, kinda like the shure mics most studios have...any suggestions? thanx a lot :thumb:

The Sure SM58 is the industry standard for live vocals for a reason.

That reason is because they are ****ing ace.

hmmm....

They're very solid mics. perfect for live work.

But considering the amount they expect you to pay for them in the UK, I tend to boycott shure. When you could buy 4 of the equivalent behringer mic for thesame price, you've gotta wonder if they're running a bit of a Gibson show.

I agree to a certain extent, but that's why I said for live use. You can batter the SM58 to hell and back and have it still working. I doubt one of those Behringer ones would last too long on tour.

Sure > Behringer for live.

Behringer > Sure for studio.

well, if I was using it, i'd probably get through 2-3 a tour. whereas a SM58 miggght last 2-3 tours.

but you don't have to worry about losing 'ringers.
