I didn't mean to come accross as a guitar basher. I play guitar, and keys. Just for the most part, guitarists are not piano players. Good to know there's one other though.

Getting there..
I'd like to hear you play it again..
Slow it down to the correct tempo. We all understand how cool it is to play as fast as you can.. but not at the expense of everything else.
Don't change tempo. Pick one and stay there. You're coming out of the gate like a raging bull, but halfway through you completely run out of gas.
I can tell that you sense the voicings.. but spend more time on them.. they carry the melody.

Yea, you were plucky with tempo. I'm glad you posted this here as well as the guitar forum, cuz you can't get real advice there.

Sorry to barge in on your existing thread, but I just joined today and I have a question I wanted to ask... and start a new thread. Why won't it let me?

i also took piano lessons for a few years, but guitar is my main instrument altho i like to keep the piano going (check out the piano solo at www.purevolume.com/lukejacksonandjoebarton) I remember playing no. 8 an it was quite hard (grade 6 or 7?) u can play it really fast but ur hands go outta sync in a few places, altho im not criticising cos i really got sick of my teacher telling me to slow down and play it properly

Beautiful stuff. Keep up the good work.
Not sure how you're doing the mixing/mastering.. might want to capture everything in separate tracks and EQ them a little better. The layers are contrasting a little too much. Pull up the piano, push down the pad, turn down the guitar and compress it.. and then raise the whole master up.
