Cubase VST + Audacity

Ok someone help :upset: . I'm using cubase to do midi drums and audacity to record guitar and bass. I'd use cubase to record guitar and bass but it doesnt record from line in :confused:. At the moment i try and export the drum midi file from cubase and import into audacity. The midi drums show up on audacity but just don't sound while the play bar is moving across. Anyone get any idea how to get it to work?

Audacity doesn't play/edit/do MIDI.

That's probably your problem.

A better option would be to import your recorded tracks into Cubase for mixing. Cubase is much more powerful than Audacity in terms of what it can do, the features it offers, and its interface. If you really CANNOT use Cubase, then you're best bet is to take the MIDI files, and export them into audio (.wav/.aiff), and import that into Audacity.

It is well documented that Audacity can display MIDI, but actually playing the MIDI has not yet been implemented.

ok so now after alot of messing i can now record throught line in on cubase. But now a new problem has occoured. I've done the song. Midi drums, guitar and bass now how do i save as an .mp3 or wav or whatever. When i try this it will only save the audio and not midi.

aye, audacity isn't the best thing for midi.

sorry im on about cubase here now. I've done midi drums in cubase. Then record guitar and bass in cubase. But how do i save them all into song format?

File>Export>Mixdown?

I know Mixdown is what you're looking for, It'll be in File I would have thought.

these export audio, midi, song and arragnement. Mixdown would be the file name for export as audio. The problems is none of these mix audio tracks and midi tracks together.
