sup dudes i have an md player that i got from a friend that he gave me cuz he broke my spy sunglasses :rolleyes:

i was wonderin can i use this to record my band so i could transfer it to my computer in mp3 form? and if so how do i do it?

i have a question along that same line. I have about the right mics now to go to friend's houses and mike up their drums to gain experience, but I have no clue how to record (I have no multitracker, my studio uses a desktop computer) I can lug around my mixer, but would it be ok to record the stereo output to a minidisc recorder. Has anyone tried recording on these, are they any good? And would it damage the unit to go from a mixer's main outs into its little line-in?

I wish I knew too, I know people who have broken their minidiscs recording on them, but then what minidisc is it? Mine is an NZ-1 so it has a mic input for electrets so it's assumed it can withstand recording and I've connected my headphone out of the 4 track to the minidisc line in before with no damage.

My mini disc has a mic input too. I#ve recorded my band with it. The only problem was when it came to transfering onto computer. The software i had (sony sonicstage) wouldn't let me import anything off the minidisc. Apparently now there has been a new version released that will let you but i can not confirm this.

You cannot send data from a minidisc to a PC via USB, you need to use an analog cable from the headphone out into the pc's line in.
