Audacity Basic Problem

I have a single WAV drum track taken from Guitar Pro and am trying to record my guitar over it, I can record my guitar but when I press record I dont hear the WAV Drum track being played at all, so I cant tell If im in time at all....and its fustrating because Ive actually managed to shape quite a nice tone for the first time in my recording..... :evil:

Go onto preferences, the first tab should be 'Audio I/O', look to the bottom and there will be two tickboxes, one will read 'Play other track whilst recording new one'
Make sure that one is ticked, it should fix the problem for you.
