Crappy situtation

I don't want to give a long boring story so let me sum it up quickly.

Mic stands and stuff are at friends house.

He's not coming but everyone else is.

Is there a way to basically improv a mic stand for the time being?

What do you need the mic for?
I'm guessing it's a guitarist/vocalist and not just a vocalist.
The best I could think of would be to put the mic on a shelf or something?

Duct tape the wire to the ceiling and have the mic hang down. There's a lot of other things you could do that require duct tape, but this will probably work.

already done it :-d ok...take anything that resembles a pipe..and duct tape it somewhere around the bottom quarter of it to a cymbal stand and then duct tape the mic somewher around the top 25% of the pipe...and I Think you can use your head well enough to figure out how high and long it needs to go

the pipe is a good idea.. if you happoen to own a video tripod like i do it makes a great improvised mic stand.
