Tell me what you think of my band and what you think might need improvement. Anything helps especially since we're in the middle of a $3,000 recording session.
Thanks!

You guys are good at what you do, generic hard rock..and im really not trying to be derogatory at all because you all play your instruments well and the music has a good production value and defenite structure..but...there are a ton of bands in that genre who play with just as much fluidity as you do, as a suggestion for your future success you might want to try delving out the norm a bit more but remember to keep the music centered around that genre...after doing that you may find yourself with a bigger following....

Pretty good but as Fatal said, try to branch out a bit
Btw, the intro to Wait to Fall was sweet

try not to hold one note too long on the vocal lines in the verses, save those for more meaningful phrases and words in the chorus, otherwise there's no peak to the song... i'm wating for that rad catchy vocal chorus-like thing somewhere but i'm not hearing it. good sound though nice and "rock and roll". i could totally put your music on my ipod and tear it up at bear mtn (snowboarding)

Totally awsome. I see you're a Pittsburgh band. I live in the area. I might come check you out sometime or something. Good music.

Wait to fall was the shizzlegizzemgar! If you are a Drummer then can you PLEASE tell/teach me how to do what Josh Wills of Story Of The Year does in Until the day I die. The thing with the Hi-Hats where his arms/hands go up and down when he's playing fast. If you have any questions to what the hel* I am saying could you please reply/IM/E-mail Hockeystar0717@aol.com. Oh and if anyone who is reading this knows, could you do the same! THANKS!

Incredible man, I really like it. It's not at all my type of music, I play acoustic myself. It has tons of energy and I can tell you guys are great, I live in Virginia, you should come here sometime. 3,000 dollars for studio sessions...wow..i listened to wait to fall...and that quality is really good, it sounds like you spend a thousand on that song alone..great, great job to you and your band.
But as far as critisizm..
*to me it sounds like the toms are overpowering the bass and guitar during the fills, which might be what you're looking for..not sure.
*You could probably turn the bass up in the final mix..I could hear it only when there wasn't a drum fill or a sustained guitar chord.
*I can't understand many lyrics, obviously this genre it's kind of typical..but you will get many more fans and listens if people can remember the lyrics to your songs
*I'd boost the volume of the guitar solo by a few decibels..the bass overpowers it!
Things that I liked..
*The use of effects cymbals by the drummer
*the piano intro
*in general..the drummer. I liked his use of flams in the beginning and his fills.
*The singing, it was very good, although it was kind of hard to hear at some points
Very good job, hope that helps. I understand how nerveracking the recording process can be. In the end, trust your instinct.

the solo is a little quiet, piano could be a little louder throughout the rest of the song IMO. otherwise i thought it was quite good

reminds me of evanescence a bit :O
anyway, I've only listened to wait to fall - it was pretty good. It's really not something I'd spend money on tbh, but if you're into that kind of music, more power to you.

you guys are really good, and i think you're going to succeed, but i tend to agree with others who are saying that you have a lot of competition out there. there are a lot of bands with a similar sound. anything you can do to make your sound unique (without being ridiculous) would be good.

Give the other tracks a listen too. I joined Downside as a bass player after "Wait to Fall" was recorded, so all of my bass work is on the other tracks . I used to be the bands drummer before we changed the name to Downside. Things got kinda dull after awile so I went back to school and they got a new drummer. (Kinda glad they did!)
I ran into our guitar player one day and he told me what happened. Apparently the bass player nailed the guitar players ex-fiance and got kicked out. Since I played everything and I helped write all of the old material, I picked up the bass and carried on.
