hey everyone, I've added another song from our demo. It's called "want what you want". Same as the other two songs, recorded on Roland 880. These songs are actually two years old, hopefully we'll get some of our new stuff recorded soon. Anyway, please give this song a listen...its pretty slow in the middle but it really picks up at the end. Thanks http://www.mnlocalmusic.com/Profile.aspx?AID=81

No apology required, your song made up for the minor mistake. What's another bit of internet space wasted anyhow right? Peace man! Keep on putting up songs!

Hmmm. I don't like metal at all, but that was pretty good. Actually, it was extremely good. Nice job!

Awsome, but not my taste. You guys sound good together but the vocals were hard to adjust to at first but they suit the music well

when you say louder, do you mean in a more powerful voice, like dirtier sounding? Cuz I have suggested to our singer that maybe he try that. Keep it coming!

I listened to all 3 songs until the verses came in. All of the songs had the same structure, you should work on variety.

It's been done to death. Tell the guitarist to get his own tone. I'm so sick of clean tones with 900 pounds of chorus on them.

No, the tone and style of voice is fitting and good. By louder I mean as in volume. Decibles. You can't hear it.

Thanks for the riff compliment, and I guess we just need to mix the vox a little louder.

There are actually 2 guitar tracks there, but only one has chorus...its a patch on a pod pro. I thought it sounded good and fit the mood of the song. But thanks for the feedback.

These three songs do somewhat have the same feel at the beginning, but they are still unique. I kind of noticed this too, our newer songs have a little more variety. I do want to kind of stick to my own style though, so if it sounds like my other songs that isn't too bad. Thanks!

Hey prone07, how much did your recording equipment cost?
I think you guys are great musicians. But like Janitor said, all 3 songs sound about the same. I think your singer kicks major ***. I don't really like your guitarist's clean tone during the verses. It sounds like 3 Doors Down and they blow. Otherwise, his riffs are great. You should try to get guitar solos added somewhere.
How long have each of you been playing?

great stuff the best thing about it is you have singing along with screaming not just screaming the whole time. I hate bands who do that.

Hey prone07, how much did your recording equipment cost?
Hey, our equipment is basically just a cheap mixer and a Roland 8 track. I got mine about 4-5 years ago. They are nicer and cheaper now. You could probably get a nice one for $600-800. Or a used one for only $200.-300. As far as microphones, we just used cheap stuff, like shure sm-57's...the drum mikes might have been more expensive, we borrowed them from my buddy in Nocompliance.(a really good punk band). Anyway, as far as the actual gear we played through, I did my dirty guitar tracks through my Carvin MTS head and cab and miked it. The clean tracks which noone seems to like, were done through a Pod Pro direct to the roland. My normal clean tone is just straight through the amp.(Dual Rectifier now.) Sometimes I use an MXR phaser on it too. Maybe when we record our new stuff, I'll use a more natural sounding clean tone. I just thought it fit the songs. I also recorded the bass lines straight through the mixer. Our singer used a cheap alesis rack mount effect processor for just a little reverb. Other than that the tracks are pretty dry.
The most important thing to do when recording is get a good sound before you record and then eq it and touch it up. When we do our new songs we'll make the mix a little better and take more time on the drums.

Thanks, and I agree about the screaming thing. It becomes ineffective when over-done.

Thanks, I'm glad you like our stuff. I am the guitar player. Yeah, I know my clean tones are a little too much when it comes to effects. When we recorded these songs(about 2 years ago) I really liked that tone. I like more of a natural sounding clean, or some phaser sometimes if it fits. But sometimes I still run that Pod pro sound through my effects loop for the chorus and delay. The good thing is I can mix in less of that signal and blend it with my Mesa's signal. Thanks for the riff compliment too. And yes, the songs are similar in structure, but our newer stuff varies more.
As far as how long we've been playing, Mike(drummer)-14-15 years, Me(guitar)-about 8-9 years, Jamie(bass)-only like 2 years or so, Brian(vox) ?????
