I am a total piano/keyboard noob. I play guitar. But my band going to play strawberry fields. I have an keyboard. It's a Yamaha DGX-500. It has a floppy disc drive on it. I was wondering where I could download a voice that sounds like a mellotron or if that was even possible. Thanks.

i dunno if that floppy drive'll be for voices. it might just be for songs.

but you'll have trouble finding any, more so anything free.

you should check the yamaha site, I have a yamaha to, although I have a newer version PSR 3000, but you should be able to find some voices there.

also, could anyone tell me, what exactly a mellotron is?

A mellotron is pretty much an old keyboard. Uses tapes with the sounds instead of doing it digitally, though. Used in a lot of psychedelic music. I find that most flute or recorder sounds work for SSF.

It is not possible to download more presets into the DGX-500.
