I'm a die hard sox fan i know a lot about them and the rest of baseball and im going to be realistic and say they wont repeat. i dont care how much of a distraction pedro was same with d lowe those are 2 huge losses that i dont think can be replaced by david wells matt clement and wade miller
plus the yankees got johnson so you know...

Doubt it.
I'd love a Dodgers-Red Sox World Series though.
If only the Dodgers were better.

Pedro and Lowe weren't huge losses, but I don't know whether or not we can repeat.

Sure you can repeat. On paper there are better teams, but that didn't stop the Marlins twice, Angels, Diamondbacks, etc. If you can get to the playoffs, it's a crapshoot from there.

exactly, plus, the yankees days of buying world series' are over, the red sox have had better teams on paper than the yankees on many occasions, but the yankees always somehow won. i think now the tables have turned and now the yankees are the losers. YEAH BOOYYYY.

Possible, but unlikely. Recently teams haven't been able to repeat in baseball, even if they come back with a great team the next year.

Yankees are stronger this year and so are the Orioles so Sox are going to have a tougher time. Plus without Pedro as well.

i would love to see pedro struggle but anywhoo there is the possibility of a repeat...as with any team and as much as i'd like to see it i think and this is far out but the O's with sammy sosa palmero Tejada and most say larry Bigbe has paul O'neil potential it's just their rotaition you have to worry about so overall no big threat to the sox and yanks but i wouldnt be suprised if it happened

possibly. Its always a possibility. The season hasn't really started so we don't know yet. Ask this question again at all-star break.

Sosa and Palmeiro are garbage, and they did nothing to help their rotation or their bullpen. I wouldn't be surprised if they finished in last this year.

They were in third place in late July until they collapsed, in case you forgot.

Roy Halladay had a bad season last year. A healthy Halladay is worth at least 18-25 wins for the Jays this year.

no because your forgetting who they lost...CARLOS DELGADO his skills are declining but he can help any team in baseball and for that the marlins are lucky

I could argue that they never really had Delgado last year, either.
Halladay, Delgado, and Wells all had off-years last season.

Sosa and Palmeiro are garbage, and they did nothing to help their rotation or their bullpen. I wouldn't be surprised if they finished in last this year.
They may not be the same players they used to be, but they're still pretty good hitters. Sosa had 35 HR and 80 RBI in 126 games last year, and Palmeiro had 23 HR and 88 RBI, and a .359 OBP. Their averages are down, but now that they're in the same lineup, the averages will come back up some.
They definitly wont be last. Look at Toronto.

nah, i think the yanks are gonna have a better year then the Sox, there is no weak spot on the yankees anymore, they got 2 solid 2nd basemen in womack and sanchez, a new and improved pitching staff, and even if Randy Johnson is done, we got 4 other solid starters in Pavano, Moose, Wright, And Brown, apparently Giambi is hitting, the OF kicks ***, the bullpen is finally good again, and a better coaching staff, i think they are a better all around team, well hitting is even
ESPN W.S. odds: Yanks- even
Sox- 5:8

Palmeiro's averages "are down" because he's 40. He slugged .436 last year, that's horrible for a power hitter. And you know how I feel about Sosa.
Also, they still don't have any pitching to speak of.

I know hes old, but his OBP was still .359, which is good. I dont know, like I said, they've obviously not as good as they used to be, but they're still decent hitters. I agree their pitching is awful. I can really only name a few of their pitchers. But last place? I dont know about that, I'm thinking they'll be in a fight with Tampa for 3rd.
Playoffs are a definite no.

in all actuality there wasn't that much of a loss. There was Dlo who was horrible during the regular season and good during the playoffs. We want someone whos gonna be good all year round. We lost pedro, but we got a lot of money from freeing up from him, enough to get many more players who maybe aren't as good, but one major problem we had last year was lack of players during injuries, something we hopefully won't have to worry about this year.

Devil rays are a young team that don't get enough respect. For awhile they were an extremely good team, with i think a 12 game winning streak last year. They are more experienced now, so i think they will better than the Jays.

I don't think they could and even if they do, it will have not even half of the "amazingness" the original win had. It's one of those once-in-alifetime events that you can't duplicate. It wouldn't have the same meaning if they won this year.
