This song was heavily influenced by the beatles and oasis. More so Oasis..i was listening to some might say and when I heard the line "Some might say, sunshine follows thunder" I wrote this.

Grey Skies

There's always a bright side to every dark moon,
There's always daylight at the end of the night,
there's always a smile at the end of a frown,
There's always a laugh at the end of a cry,
There's always sunlight at the end of a storm,

(Instrumental Break)

There's always a bright side to every dark thing,
There's always daylight at the end of the night,
There's always a smile when you decide to leave your pain,
There's always laughter the next day after,
There's always sunlight at least once a day,

(Solo)

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
So stand up tall!
When the skies are gray!
Something good will come your way!

Naaaaa Na Na Na
Naaaaa Na Na Na
Naaaaa Na Na Na

The Underline Parts are lines where everybody would sing, and im also emphazing that they are the same in both verse's..or similar. And I just added the bridge/chorus thing at the end today tell me if I should keep it or lose it.

do you think you could e-mail some mp3's of Oasis and Rob Thomas so I can download them at work
because I can't install any p2p programs at work because the d@mn administrator group and I don't have any sound on this comp and my other faster comp doesn't have the net on it and I only have dial-up lol so Iif you wouldn't mind e-mailing them preferrably alot of them ;-) to corupt2057@yahoo.com I'd appreciate it

as for your song here
you need some verses man you need to establish a situation or story to it that we the listeners can take in or relate to and these paragraphs here you could turn them into the choruses other than that it's not much to crit

*Very oasis if thats what your trying for. Im a big oasis fan despite that fact that noel writes a lot of songs just so that they ryhme and mean nothing. Anyway most important thing in this seems to be your juxtaposition and "dark moon" and "brightside" are very good. Images of pink floyd at this line lol. "dawn" would maybe be stronger than "daylight" as a comparison though and you could change the third line "laughter at the end of tears" maybe? Otherwise your ideas are pretty good and i like your line of thinking

(Instrumental Break)

There's always a bright side to every dark thing,
There's always daylight at the end of the night,
There's always a smile when you decide to leave your pain,
There's always laughter the next day after,
There's always sunlight at least once a day,

* I think that the first verse was stronger but again with a little revision it could b made to stand up well. same ideas again just rethink your comparisons. An idea would be to come up with a list of words for each comparison then pick your strongest ones

(Solo)

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
So stand up tall!
When the skies are gray!
Something good will come your way!

* Not very original but fits what the rest of your song does adequetely.

Naaaaa Na Na Na
Naaaaa Na Na Na
Naaaaa Na Na Na

* Your taking the oasis/ Beatles thing too far now!
.

A bit short and not very original but reasonably well written for the genre so 6 out of ten.

If you get a chance then can you crit this http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=311300
