- Unlocked all characters
- Completed on hard mode with a friend, got to Robot factory Hard mode on own
- All challenges completed
- All but one Arcade award unlocked
- Found 2 of 3 mini games
- All cheats unlocked

I fell in love with that game, and I still play it regulaly now. But Timesplitters 3 should own it completely, and I am very much lookng forward to it

And if your source is correct, the release date has goneback again dammit. It was scheduled for next week last time i checked

The one thing I didn't like about TS2 is that the enemies didn't really respond when you shot them. They could carry on shooting you while their arm is gushing blood.

Also Robot Factory sucked.

03-07-2005, 07:09 AM
Robot Factory is one of the most annoying levels i've ever played. Its all going ok till you reac the room where everything has homing launchers

And NeoTokyo was a bad idea for a level. Stealth in FPS does not work well ever.

Jonny
03-07-2005, 07:15 AM
Yeah. I hated that you could get so close to the base, then she'd just turn around and shoot you.

Wild West was the best. And the Aztec one was pretty good. And the James Bond style one.

No blood.

Fine. You shoot them and they carry on shooting you despite having a bullet embeded in their bone.

Exactly. Honestly that did bother me as well I just felt a smartass comment would get my point across. I loved the game but it was almost too unrealistic in those areas.

Thats one of the parts i liked about it. Although its crowning strength by far is in multiplayer

Definetally, but they really have to step it up to deal with Halo 2 and a few other games.

Adam Jones is GOD
03-07-2005, 09:21 AM
If they're going for the mass markets, yes. But its always been more of a cult game IMO, and probably isnt looking to compete with those type of games. Any sort of network option is needed with it this time round though.

Is it going to be on Xbox? I really enjoyed Timesplitters 1 + 2 (My PS2 broke so I got an Xbox)

The big thing I'm looking forward to on Timesplitters 3 is the online mode. Tht was the only thing I thought keeping the game from being perfect,

Jonny

I made a laser quest arena on it once. You just make a huge open space with a few bunkers in the corners, turn down all the lighting and set all weapons to the red lasery ones.

Then put in max characters in 2 teams.

I played the Demo of TS3, I was not impressed, but I suppose one level isnt enough to see howthis new story mode works.

and the story mode always sucks, the multiplayer is why everyone plays it.

Terrible. Jerky controls and the gimmick of mind powers wears old quickly. That, and its hard.

Yea

I hope they have the multiplayer not online, where you can play with other CPU's and other humans and stuff not online. That's why I love it so much, you can play multiplayer with CPU's and humans

(IE: Perfect Dark, Goldeneye)

Can anyone confirm/deny?

This should clear up any multiplayer issues.

March 1, 2005 - Ninja monkeys. Deer haunters. Wild bears. Undead butlers. Hamburger Helper Man, and Secure Droid XP. These are the creations of Free Radical -- characters prepared to slaughter, maim, shred and haunt you. Yes, this is TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, and this year it's not only bigger, better, and filled with more monkeys and exploding watermelons, it's online. Yes, indeed, it's finally online, and we've played it online. We got our grubby hands on the multiplayer game, and what a freaking loud, wild and insanely hilarious time it was.

Due to ship on Xbox, PS2, and GameCube on March 23, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect may not be Halo 2, but ****ed if it ain't pretty, fast, fun, and hilarious. While we've given multiple impressions of the single-player missions, today's two-hour bout gave us an excellent sampling of the game's maps, AI, and crazy, crazy character and weapon selection.
First of all, the game sports a good selection of online game modes. It offers the standard stuff: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag. These are indeed the run of the mill online game matches you'll find in any online game, but what makes these so special is the ridiculous amount of character choices -- upward of 150 -- many of which are hilarious all on their own.

For instance, I played as a zombie moose. He's got huge antlers, shredded limbs and he's freaky looking to say the least. But I liked him, and nobody else looked anything close to him. Ed Lewis of IGNPS2 fame choose a guy we like to call Hamburger Helper Man, because of the fact that his head is a giant white rubber glove with a smiley face on it. Just watching this thing run around was a riot. There was David Clayman's character, a giant bear with a hat, and Ivan's character, who was a Cactus built into a robotic body. You're simply not going to play these characters in any other game.

The multiplayer levels were a mixture of good, wild, and even a few gleaned from TimeSplitters 2 (the Mexican ranch, to be specific). Since we had five people playing, some were a little too large for us. We played in Vietnam, the Hotel, Venice, the Temple, the Disco, and the Subway. The Disco was the smallest of the bunch, perfectly constructed to house a smaller group such as ourselves. We were able to find one another quickly, there were enough hallways and open spaces to engage like hungry, wild boars on crack, and the weapon sets and power-ups added all sorts of giddy and unusual flair.

What about not online multiplayer?

Funny moments in TS2

- Deathmatch vs all dinosaurs, one shot kills on, and only one weapon
- Deathmatch against all snowmen, only flamethrowers allowed
- Anything involving R One Oh Seven

From what i've heard, they've tried to transform the game into a more story based shooter than the previous ones which has taken away the frantic arcade shooting element of the story mode. Although i'm sure the mp has just gotten even better.

I might walk to town tomorrow to buy it (Busses aren't running cos it's bank holiday!)

I'm looking forward to it actually. I'm not really a FPS man, but with Halo 2 on XB I've been getting into it more

I have it, the siberia arcade level owns, just a massive snowscape, with a car. Its just a great level to have a 3 person deathmatch with the vintage rifle (the best sniper in the game) and a load of other weapons for long ranged killing, and then just assasinate each other for half an hour. Some of the other arcade levels suck though, such as chinese, which I never liked anyway, and the disco reminds me of that crappy chicago club thing off TS2 which I completely hated. The Story mode is brilliant, except there may be too many futuristic levels for me. However the amazing haunted mansion level makes up for that, It's massive, along with the underwater base level which was one of my favourites. The characters are brilliant and they have also brought back some of the ones off TS1 such as lt Malone. There is some ****ty characters also returned like calimari and snowman. But then the quality of the new comedy characters more than makes up for that. Something else that I like is that all the characters have their own catchphrase when you select them. Some of my favourites:
Dr. Pustule - 'Time to unleash the @rse-kick-ulator'
Ginger(bread man) - 'bite my crunchy brown @ss'

And if anyone could tell me whats so special about the monkey gun

The fact it unloads 64 bullets (aka the entire clip) in one 1/2 second burst. Its 4x more lethal that the minigun, and kills anyone instantly. However, it is only useful for one on one.

And Siberia is an awesome map I agree. Get two cpu teams fighting each other with bats, get on the dam with a sniper rifle (sci fi one is the best), and rack up the kills.

THe story mode is better too. It actually feels like a story mode this time, with a decent plot. Then you get the other extreme of arcade, which is still nuts.

TS3 is a ****ing brilliant game. The stroy mode is brilliant, very well done! "Time To Split" The arcade is still flawless as ever. Siberia is a good level but i usually just go around on the vechicle mowing people down! The Training Ground is back, it's my favourite level and i'm glad it's back. My favourite character is Corp. Harte! Dunno why but i always own with her

Oh and a good thing to do is an elimination on siberia, have all bots on. And also have the mag charger as a weapon, and more than 2 human controlled characters. When you have finished off all the bots get out the mag chargers, put em on piercing mode, and then all you have is dead bodies to use as cover.

Im still struggling on the TSUG challenge. Even with two people on one controller its hard.

Im also tempted to buy the network adapter and see how I shape up to other people. My friends offer little challenge on the whole
