Such an original and interesting movie certainly deserves its own thread. Discuss this film and other Kevin Smith movies here. My favourite scene is the hockey game on the roof.

I LOVE CLERKS

One of my favorite movies, of all time. My favorite comedy. Even though the acting sucks, the dialouge is like nothing else. Having it black and white [because of such a low budget] made it perfect. I have a ton of favorite scenes, but if I had to choose one, it would be the "37" scene.

"37. My girlfriend sucked 37 dicks."
"In a row?"

And on the subject of Smith's other movies, Mallrats is probably my second favorite.

Mallrats was definitely up there among the Smith greats, it was my second favourite behind Clerks. I thought that the newest film was very overrated, it sort of ruined the underground quality of Smith's movies.

Dogma wasn't really underground.

In fact, it seemed pretty mainstream.

Actually, I've yet to see Dogma. However, by most of my friends telling me I need to see it, I can only assume it was at least a little mainstream.

I love Kevin Smith's movies. One reason being he is obviously proud of his and my home home state, New Jersey. Every one of his films either takes place in Jersey, or Jersey is an important place in the story.

I actually live about 15 minutes away from Jay And Silent Bob's Secret Stash, you know, the one in the beginning of JASBSB. Never actually went in yet, just see it driving by.

Clerks was ok, the black and white got to me after a while. In my opinion, Mallrats > Dogma > Clerks > Chasing Amy > JSBStrike Back.

Haven't seen Clerks, but I've seen Dogma and Jay and Bob . Thought both were quite funny, Dogma is one of my favourite films at the moment. Mostly cause I like a lot of the religious debate, and the dialogue is pretty cool.

I have been wanting to see this for soooo long but I can never find anywhere that rents it. I'm probably going to have to buy it on ebay or something if I want to see it. I've heard such good things about it so i'll have to check it out very soon.

I thought the Black and White suited the film, not sure why though.

Everyone seems to forget or perhaps just don't know about An Evening with Kevin Smith. It's four hours of him telling stories about his life; truly amazing. It's his funniest movie yet just for the sheer length of it.

Also, Jersey Girl wasn't bad. Jennifer Lopez is not in it for much of the movie. Although it's pretty formulaic as far as romantic comedies go, it's still pretty good.

"You hate people"
"but i love gatherings, isn't it ironic"

I love Clerks, but strangly it is the only Kevin Smith movie i don't own.

When i get enough money i will probably buy Clerks X, by the way does any know what all the special features are on that because it is like 3 discs long.

Didn't the rights to the music cost more than the costs of making the rest of the film put together?

Oh man this is definately one of my favorite movies.

"I don't appreciate your ruse lady." I love that scene. It's even funnier if you notice Jay jumping in the backround, all leading up to when he yells at the lady as she's coming out.

When I'm bored, I put on sunglasses and do that little Randal jig.

well name some of the better ones.
Some of the better features:

The Lost Funeral Scene
Snowball Effect
Original Kevin Smith Journals [pre- and during/post- 1994 SFF]
The Flying Car
Auditions
168 Page Rough Draft of Clerks

That isn't even half of the features.
I would get it without a doubt in my mind.

You know that comic book store that Jason Lee is working in the beginning of Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back? That's the Secret Stash in Red Bank, NJ. It's a comic book store that also doubles as sort of a Kevin Smith superstore.
