I e-mailed him and asked. It's complete bullshit if he doesn't, considering WHW's fans have been waiting to hear the actual WHW with Tom, not some new vocalist. Seriously, I won't even go if he's not doing vocals. This is ridiculous.

ok, now its time to report the Sunn O))) Interview!
I went to the hotel and some minutes later another guy came in to do the interview either - the nice thing: I knew him; he is a guy from a big radio-station and we talked a little bit (yeah, two celebrities in such a short time, hehe);
Greg wasn't available and Stephen came down to the reception of the hotel and he seemed kind of unfriendly. First he did the interview with the radio guy and I had to wait for half an hour.
Then it was my turn - it was the longest interview I did so far. The longer it took, the better it got. Stephen was a really friendly guy! About the Brown note: he said that for him its a funny thing, more of humour thing, but he likes the idea. Told me that he is a fan of Lustmord either and a lot of other things.
In the end I wanted to do a photo but at first he said no, but shortly after he went out to the street and agreed to do a photo - "somewhere I saw a pron-shop... we could make the photo in front of it" haha... but he couldn't find it, so we just did it in front of a garage.
He even knew that I had to learn for my last exam and told me to go home now and to learn for it ^^ awesome this guy!
If you really like, I can transfer the interview into mp3 and upload it for you... any interest?

I love doom metal. Some of the bands I enjoy:
-Black Math Horsemen
I've seen BMH 3 times now, including their cd release party where Scott Reeder came out and jammed with them for 2 of the 5 songs they played. I would call them more post-rock with a doom tempo, but the genre doesn't really matter, this is one of the best bands going IMO. And that's not just because of my crush on Sara Timms. It was great that they got picked up by TeePee Records, one of the best labels going.
But for pure stoner 70s love, no label beats Small Stone.

Esoteric is a good place to start I suppose.
You'd probably like some Doom/Death stuff, but honestly that **** can get old quick. Stuff like Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride's early material. Like I said, you'd probably like it, but once you start checking out other doom you won't listen to it so much anymore.

Also there is no such thing as stoner doom. See elite post from first page of this thread:
Stoner doom, stoner metal and psychedelic doom describes doom metal that incorporates psychedelic elements, to varying degrees. Stoner doom is often bass-heavy and makes much use of guitar/bass effects such as fuzz, phaser or flanger. Stoner doom could be viewed as the heavier and slower form of stoner rock, as the two styles emerged simultaneously. It was pioneered in the early–mid 1990s by bands such as Kyuss, Sleep, Acid King, Electric Wizard and Sons of Otis.
It's from wiki, therefore it is true.
No but seriously, I do not understand how you seriously try to exclude stoner doom. What would you want it called? just stoner metal? Stoner doom bands sound closer to the protodoom bands that started the genre.

They won't though. there's only the drummer off that line up and I can't see John Bremner pulling off Dennis Cornelius's vocals.
It was interesting to hear Iron Man talking fondly of Mashall Levy as most of the people from the doom scene that I know would like to see his head on a stick. Mainly for being a bootlegging scumbag, ripping off fans and bands.
What did they say about him? I forget.

I can't go to that after all =\ My buddy couldn't afford the ticket and it would have been a stretch for me as well. At least I've got Om coming. The warlocks will be here soon as well and I've been digging their new album.
I've been listening to so much 35007 and Hielo Negro lately, great stoner.

Not sure whether you guys class this as doom, but my bro's been into stuff like Cult of Luna and Neurosis for a few years, I recently got into them both. It seems to be a bit of a trend amongst the metalheads that I know that they all listen to post hardcore and doom metal now...
Saw Neurosis in Berlin, was a great coincidence as we were going on holiday to Berlin when the gig was on \m/ Was an awesome gig, they were supported by this band called Celan who had apparently just formed, they absolutely kicked arse.

Hmm, post-metal isn't a term I've come across - what makes neurosis and that lot post metal? Not that I'm doubting what you guys are saying, I've just not heard that before, and some people I know are under the impression Neurosis practically invented doom metal o.O
