Signed to Shadow Kingdom Records (check them out they've got some fantastic records out), let them spend money on artwork and promotion, then buggered off to Rise Above records leaving SK records well out of pocket. Of course SK are a very small label so can't afford to sue them.

Lee Dorian knew about them being signed to SK as well so he is also a twat.

This is the underground - you should at least attempt to do the right thing.

What are some bands that sound like Pentagram?

I just heard the First Daze Here album thanks to a skate video and I'm digging them so hard.

edit: I totally didnt realize the post above mine mentioned pentagram as well.

Whoah, that's a surprise. I was only talking to Chris (drums) the other day and things were going well.

Although to be honest they were always a fairly fragile band with fairly high emotions (last time they broke up Stu (old drummer) was telling me that if they saw each other in the street they'd cross the road to avoid seeing each other).

Anyway massive shame, easily the best doom band around at the moment, and by far the nicest guys in the scene (and I've met a lot).

Didn't know you knew them. I've always wondered is the lyrics came from Pat Walker's personal experience, or they were just... you know, lyrics with no personal meaning.

Do you know anything about this?

Jondur
01-09-2009, 04:37 AM
Yeah I've known them for a fair while. And you know what I've never asked and I don't think I'd feel comfortable asking. He's quite a private guy and I think it'd be too much like prying.

Anyway Warning is dead, long live Pat's new band (with Chris on drums), apparently it'll be a continuation of Warning's sound.

G'day forum.

My name is Josh, I'm new. Whilst I also love most types of metal and have been into it and playing it for 25 years, I notice that while several genre's are represented on here the site that Doom metal, my favourite flavour is not.

So are there any doom fans here on here?

Personally my favourite flavours of doom at the traditional variety as opposed to the more .dISEMBOWELLMENT, My Dying Bride, Evoken, Paradise Lost style of death doom. Black Sabbath is the no brainer, but St Vitus, The Obsessed, Witchfinder General, Cathedral, Electric Wizard, Reverend Bizarre, the very recently departed Warning, Goatsnake, Solstice, Burning Witch and many more among my favourites.

My favourite doom albums of 2008 were Itallian lords Ufomammut great album "Idolum". A new US band from a more sludgey flavour called Cough and their album "Sigilum Luciferi", Gates of Slumber's "Conqueror", Coffins "Burried Death" and Grand Magus' "Iron Will".
