Of Empires Forlorn. Although to honest WHW do what they say on the tin - all the albums are mournful epic doom, lots of keyboards, great vocals etc. I think you'd be happy with with Empires, Sorrow of the Angels or chapter 1.
Haha, I have almost all their albums, I was just wondering which your favorite was because you seem to be the only one here who shares my love of them. It bothers me when people call them “not doom enough” when they never really had the attention to be painted with the brush, and I quite honestly think they’d sound artificial with anything in their sound tweaked.

Really? I guess you’ve just never confessed your love. I think my favorite song is “Sorrow of the Angels” (although I like it on Lovesongs of the Forsaken as opposed to Empires Forlorn) or “The Drowning Years”.
I only have 1 album, i need to get more tbh. They are good.
I hate you so much
Dude, you are more then welcome to come.

Angmar

Simple Mind Condition is much more of a stoner album.

idk if I would quite call it stoner
thats their new one right? is there a big difference in sound or style?
yeah buts its still really good
It's less traditional doom, put it that way.
I love Trouble but they frustrate me so much it keeps me from listening to them.

The self titled is so underrated :(

Because they love Jesus?

Lack of consistency.
I can see that
Trouble are playing tomorrow night but I have class :(
I don't want to see them with Kory Clarke. I passed up like 5 shows with Eric. I guess I missed my chance.
I don't know why people throw so much **** at simple mind condition, it's such a good album.

I was reading some review and the guys complained it doesn't have any catchy moments, lol.

what? SMC is probably the catchiest of all their albums.
I concur with my fellow gringo.
Angmar
09-18-2008, 12:01 AM
Yeah exactly why it was stupid haha.
I'd say it's their third best, behind P9 and The Skull of course.

I dig the selftitled.
Yeah, it's fairly solid as is Manic Frustration, but I like SMC more.

In the rectory is far better then any album ever released in the doom genre (exepting Warning's Watching from a distance) but III is still a great album.

I'm with Pate. I can't think of a more overrated doom band. In the Rectory was good, Harbinger was good but neither were classic.
Orodruin are better.

I never completely got into "In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend". It wasn't bad but I never really got more then 2 songs in.

I really wish I could find more doom that hits me like that album.

Doomshine get kind of tiresome after a while, but they're still pretty awesome.
It would help if they had more than one album.
