steve has his head on straight. Messiah Marcolin ftw.

dunno, maybe I should pick up the Red Album again. I remember getting a little bored after the first 4 songs though.
Does anyone know of any bands that sound like Unholy on their Procession Of Black Doom demo?
Well, I've only heard From the Shadows, but based on Elim's mention of Winter, I would say check out Sorrow (the U.S. one). Could be what you're looking for, although I'm purely basing my recommendation on my opinion of Sorrow being slightly akin to Winter in style. Hopefully that helps.

I actually like Epicus more than Nightfall honestly.
Ancient Dreams is still my favorite
rattlehead42147

There is a main riff to a song on Ancient Dreams that is a sped up riff from Nightfall. I can't seem to find it though...
Nostalgia
02-27-2008, 09:17 PM
Mirror Mirror has my favorite riff, but Ancient Dreams in general isn't doomy enough for me, and same goes with Tales of Creation.
At the Gallows End was always my favorite Candlemass song just because the chorus riff is ****ing awesome, but Samarithan as a whole is much stronger I think.
rattlehead42147
02-27-2008, 09:19 PM
It's really hard for me to choose one favorite song but Samarithan and At the Gallows End are up there. I reviewed it for a 5 so practically every song on Nightfall is perfect imo. The first Candlemass song I heard was Bewitched and I think that song gets a little overlooked since it was a single, its still a great song.

yeah it definitely is a great vid though. I spent forever looking for a tab to learn the solo to Bewitched but i couldn't find a single one, i had to learn it by ear. It was worth the time though. I still get a kick out of seeing Lars' solo just for the spin move at the end plus he's not plugged in and wearing a cast on his arm. Obviously he didn't need to be plugged in but it still makes me laugh for some reason.

Balls.
It's awesome how he plays that solo with his wrist in a cast.
Yeah, although he's clearly fibbing a bit towards the spin move part, the notes he plays on the fretboard are much too close to the middle of the guitar neck to be the high notes of the solo, he kind of just moves his fingers fast at the end. You can see what he plays just doesn't sync up with the sound if you watch closely.

Well I wouldn't call them amazing, but I enjoy them quite a bit. I like The Red Album a lot.
Tyler would say they are a big "Meh".
They were shown on MTV2, so that's enough to make me not like them anymore.

Well, since I love my female vocals in my metal, then yes. They're quite good...nice and heavy, and their singer doesn't sound like every other dime a dozen high pitched soprano bitches. The lower vocals work much better with the music.
Phototropic, once again, your band's music is fantastic. I'd buy an EP or album if one comes out.

Forest of Dean. Gloucestershire. You in Swansea right? That's an hour and a half from here. I'm going to be in Swansea on Friday 14th to see Honey for Christ - you should come along, it'll be an ace gig. HFC will knock your face off in the live setting.
Next gig after that for me is Pagan Altar and The River in Bedford (2 and a half hours drive - I must be mad) to give the band grief for choosing the wrong drummer.

Got this message from Trouble's MySpace and thought it was spam at first:
How ya doin’?
Just wanted to say, “hey,” and to apologize for not keeping up with all of you on Trouble’s and my own Space. As a matter of fact, I had to blow mine up and start over. I hope that we can all still be friends. Please, be patient with me. I’m not very good with computers. I mean we get along, but I would never go out for a beer with one and besides, it doesn’t help matters none that I don’t have a computer right now.
Recently, I visited both sites at a friend’s and I found that a lot of you were asking me how I was doin’. I really appreciated it and I started to wonder if there was a reason for your concern or was it just your way of saying, “hi.” The truth is, I’ve been feelin’ like **** for a very long time. My mind, body, and soul felt like they were all goin’ in different directions.
Then one day, I met someone who said they could help me become one again, and for the first time in my life, something is working. I thought that I would turn you on to it if you need so for your very own customized, natural treatment for your mind and body, (you’ll need God for the soul part), go to www.marketamerica.com/senseijen, and take the Nutri-Physical.
I’m not all the way there yet. My body has some catching up to do, but it’s getting better every day. I know that everything is goin’ to be okay. Wouldn’t it be nice if we all started to feel good about ourselves and each other?
Peace & Love,
Trouble Eric

Nagual
"Long playing ambient dronescape pitting the combined efforts of Todd Merrell on shortwave radio and electronics, Patrick Jordan on shortwave radio and processing and Aidan Baker (Nadja) on guitar. Recorded live in 04 in Hartford. Comes packed in heavy stock center open sleeve with environmental mirror image landscape artwork courtesy of Seldon Hunt. Pressing of 600 copies." - A.
