Nightfall is better than Epicus... except the song Solitude.
Well neither was the first album and everyone seems to enjoy that.
A lot of people say it's no good too...which leads me to believe that those people are ****ing nuts.

This actually is pretty good, although Nightfall still slays it.
It's the best song on Ancient Dreams.

My first Doom album was the Pentagram best of Turn To Stone (or something like that) I usually never buy best of's but that was cheap and had a fair few songs on it. If you can find it I do recommend it as an intro, also anything by Candlemass or Saint vitus.

If you want something a little more accessible that's still classified as doom, pick up some Swallow The Sun. The Morning Never Came and Hope are terrific albums.

I'm trying to get into Reverend Bizarre, but I haven't made it past the first song yet. :( So far nothing really grabs me; the riffs aren't very heavy or entertaining. I'll keep trying though, because as I understand it if you don't like this band you aren't part of the Doom club or something. :p

I have no problem with homosexuals, black people, asian people, hispanic people, jewish people or any other minority group. Apart from lefties of course.
I am actually very liberal, am wholly in favour of free movement of peoples from around the world, support gay marriage and what's more recycle dillengently. And I'm a vegetarian. In fact I'm about as furry and friendly as you can get. And I have a strong cultural background coming from a family of classical musicans. Of course in the middle ages you'd be accused of being in league with the devil (sinister being taken from the latin for left) but these days? Hell you even get left-handed can openers! Any of you guys listen to Spiritus Mortis? I highly recommend them but a word of warning - you'll have to appreciate all things epic and heavy metal to enjoy them. The singer Vesa is one of my favourites - huge power, great range.
The other band you simply HAVE to check out is ARGUS. Now this is non-negotiable. This is heavy metal of the highest order. If this band are not the best thing you've heard in years then there's something wrong with you. Even lefties will enjoy this band! With the exception of the Blessed Ronnie James Dio, the singer, Butch, is my favourite singer of all time. AND you can download the demo with permission from the band from http://www.againstnature.us/BH/Artists/Argus/Argus.htm

I hate to go on and repeat myself but I can't believe anyone has commented on this! So I'll say it once more: click on the link and legally download, for free, a great demo from a fantastic band.
ps. the singer is the old Penance singer.
