i'm very curious as to how behringer products are still so low in price. It seems that everybody knows that they're high quality, they must sell a ****load. I was just looking at mics on musicians friend and reading reviews for a 20 dollar behringer mic and about 5 people said they couldn't tell the difference between that mic and a shure sm58.

they operate in practically every single country and sell practically every peice of pro audio equiptment you'd care to think of. they sell tonnes because their prices are so low, so they can keep them low.

Behringer isn't known for extremely high quality. I think that they can sell stuff cheap because:
They use a bit lower quality parts, like cheap plugs and hard plastic instead of metal in cases.
I have heard that they buy their components in very high amouts at once, so that they get them cheaper.
Their quality control seems to be bit random, with same models there can be good and quite bad items. But it's cheaper that way.
Big part of their products are copied from some other companies products. They don't have to invest so much in product development.
And maybe they just take less profit from one single item, and sell them with low prices so that people buy them more.

Its not as gooas stuff costing 5x as much, but it is known for its amazing quality : price ratio.

They use a bit lower quality parts, like cheap plugs and hard plastic instead of metal in cases. up to a point, they use metal cases where they're needed, e.g. footswitches.

I have heard that they buy their components in very high amouts at once, so that they get them cheaper. true.

Their quality control seems to be bit random, with same models there can be good and quite bad items. But it's cheaper that way. they're always very happy to replace dodgy items. quality control = not so good, cusotmer service = very good

Big part of their products are copied from some other companies products. They don't have to invest so much in product development. probably, they don't tend to invent anything new.

And maybe they just take less profit from one single item, and sell them with low prices so that people buy them more.
yes.

From a business standpoint, they make more by selling many, many inexpensive items than they would selling less items, but having them more expensive.

Behringer don't have the most amazing product quality, and wear and tear. They may not have great customer service, but they do offer good products at substantially lower pricers than competitors and make some very commendable products. My MIC200 Tube Preamp is serving me just fine.

I'm buying a Behringer V-Amp 2 soon for home recording my guitar, I've heard it won't stand up well to damage but all it will be doing is sitting on my floor and my shelf.

Behringer makes very solid products, I own one of their bass amps and it's great for my uses (smalls gigs with a folk/acoustic band).

I hope some of the larger companies take notice (Mackie, Roland, Yamaha) and lower thier prices. I think Behringer is taking such a large share of the market that these companies will want to be competitive. It appears that JBL has introduced a budget line of cabinets.
