After months and months of searching through menus and trying various audio connections, I finally developed a fully functional DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).
Basically, here's how I have it set up:
Composing/midi sequencing software--->midi keyboard--->mixer--->digital multitrack recorder---> computer's sound card.
Once I have a completed mix on my digital multitrack, I use an audio-editing program on my computer to finialize the recording, save it and then set it up for recording on an audio CD.
I can now make top-noch, high quality recordings and CDs of my music!
