I'm looking for some help with a chord, it is a Am7 with a 4th as well, as it includeds the 3rd, will this mean it can't be a suspended chord, and how would it be written out in chord symbol format, and how would you actually say it, eg A minor seven sus four etc, as i'm pretty sure it won't be that, Also because i play guitar will it be an eleventh as i'm playing it after the octave will this make it an eleventh, i know that it's just being picky, but i like to know. Also would anyone know any was to play it on guitar, the only way i have is:
e:---5---
b:---5---
g:---5---
d:---5---
a:---5---
E:---5---
All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The chord function in Guitar Pro 3 labels it as a C6add9.
I don't know for sure though, perhaps the guys in the guitar forum might be of better help?

Usually nowadays, the 3rd is included in a sus2 chord as the 3rd and 2nd are a whole step apart, in regards to sus4 chords, major 3rds and 4ths are not considered to get along so well. But for your chord, the minor 3rd and natural 11th get along fine, so it should be called Am7add11. Gaslight also is correct to say that its a C6add9, and the same goes for D7sus4add9 and Em7add11#5. They're all the same, it just depends on what context you're using them in.
Barring every string like that on a single fret tends to muddy things up, i suggest these voicings:
3 * 0 * 0 * 10 * 12 * 12 * 17 * 23
5 * 3 * 1 * 8 * 13 * 13 * 17 * 20
5 * 5 * 0 * 9 * 12 * 12 * 17 * 22
0 * 5 * 0 * 10 * 12 * 12 * 17 * 23
0 * 0 * 0 * 0 * 0 * 12 * 17 * 0
X * X * X * X * X * X * 17 * X
Sorry for the crude drawings, the asterisks serve as dividers. i suggest just copying it on paper as i don't know how to make this thing cooperate with me.
I should also add that you don't have to add in the 5th if u don't want to, it doesn't add or subtract anything from the minor7 quality.

Ok, thanks for that, the song i was fiddling with sounds alot better now, the straight barre on the 5th fret sounded awful and that was my main gripe, thanks for your input :)
