our band is going in a new derection and this is the first song that we started for out stile...its going to be on our debut album " A stick through my heart"

sitting in my room
sicluded from the world
seaking later wounds
looking for an answer

if only you were here
you could see my misory
you could feal my heart brake
love me, but not today?

chorus
(insane screaming)
________________________
in a world of perfection
i would not sit here weeping
in a sane mine
my cuts would not be provoked

i loved you forever
but our love broke apart
now i sit here weeping
wishing for a better day
__________________________

lost without my hope
dead without your love
cutting my arms
does not ease the pain

lovely hollidays
longing your componey
wishing you were here
but wishing death the same

chorus

you left me as a shell
crying in the rain
you took a part of me
i wont it back, want it back! (insane screaming)

for love is a virtue
shall death be a release?
this love we once shared
now i weep in a corner
longing...
longing...

Type this out in a word processor, use spell check, copy and paste.

It's very cliche besides that.

Very cliche. Emoesque. I would suggest not being emo, seeing as it will be out of style within a few years. So once you get a fanbase, no one will want to listen to the music anymore.

Trying to help.

This doesn't have a clear cut idea for a song. Their are to many things going on in it and each line should be the start of a new verse.

if only you were here
you could see my misory
you could feal my heart brake
love me, but not today?

That is not a question you just asked. **** your vocab sucks. Learn how to spell my friend cause it makes you sound childish and immature and no one is going to give this song a second thought.

chorus
(insane screaming)

Please don't do that. You should have insane crying here.

i loved you forever
but our love broke apart

wishing for a better day

Stop crying, get over it... ****!

It's company
The last line is just bad english.

chorus

you want it back, not wont.

longing...

Stop crying. Don't repeat that every verse.

This I am sorry is the worst song of the week.

1.1/10... go back to your original format.

p.s. jello for mayor.

That was in the 70's or 80's, but it still could be a pipe dream.

Don't make up excuses for why you wrote it. It is still bad. If you want to make fun of emo's then make fun of them, don't try to copy their style

hahaha thats funny.....did you see how easy it is to write an emo song? thats the point...some people thaught it was ok...that means i can make a horrid song and people still dont mind it....emo sucks
its not a serious song....oh god wed never use it...and we havent changed the band at all......and by the way jello ran for president in 2000 so we still have a chance

One person gave you a 7/10 and then they even stated that they didn't like emo. Most emo is so godd'amn pathetic nowadays it isn't even funny to diss that junk anymore. Unless it was a very well written peice of sattire. Anyhow, yes Jello for president; even though he himself endorsed Nader as the better candidate....

I think the reason you got a 7/10 of ten is because 9/10 of the people on this forum aren't very good at writing lyrics, as of lately.

you know I'm tired of people labling bands 'emo' because it has become a genre curse word. Cursive is one of the greatest bands out there and they're called 'emo' by people who listen to and like them. Taking Back Sunday, on the other hand is crap and can be called 'emo' by people who like them (and much of the press). I understand what kind of music you're making fun of but !#$%, some stuff called emo is awesome. Cursive, Thursday, Bright Eyes (they lucked out and are generally called indie rock, but all the same), mewithoutYou, even Hopesfall has been called some emo-hardcore hybrid. Which brings me to another point - no one should ever, under any circumstance support a Emo section on this forum. It would only serve to let a bunch of users sling their mud before they got into good threads.

Cheers to that. I am six of those ten people.

And yes, don't post satire unless it's worthwhile or you'll get this kind of response.

Ten points for mentioning Cursive and a rep point. Woot.

Alright, let's go over this from the start. Emo was short for 'emotion' and was coined in the DC area by bands like Rites of Spring and Fugazi. Cursive's greatest influence is fugazi. They are therefore 'emo' by inheritance. mewithoutYou has been compared to fugazi and they are the most emotional band I've ever seen. I think it's safe to say that there is some influence on them by the older, pure emo scene and that they have an effect on bands today that are good emo. Now bad emo, that's just something that's trying to edge just far enough out of mainstream to be cool, rebellious, angsty music while still being greatly accessible. And boy does it sell. But that has no connection whatsoever with mewithoutYou.

You act as if I were out to insult them...

I just ask that you do not insult MewithoutYou.

(I know all this... I am just in a spastic mood tonight. Forgive any misinterpretations.)

And Son of a Widow is a good song. I agree with your sig.

meWithoutYou is Post-Hardcore, Emo is Emotional Hardcore, they are different and MWY is assuredly not Emo. Spend some time in the hardcore forums if genres confuse you.

So how about you guys stop turning this lyric thread into a genre discussion? I'm sure the threadstarter would appreciate it.

i_mine_cor
02-23-2005, 10:03 AM
Actually, I think he started it to make a genre arguement, and has probably had his laugh and is done with this. Of course, this could take place in the hardcore forum, but I'm not interested in going over there to start a fight about something like this. Besides, a great band is getting too much publicity already.
And as for the fugazi-ian mckaye comment, Minor Threat has about three good songs and they, when combined with eachother, add up to the skill, length, and enjoyment level of the first 90 seconds of "The Ugly Organ". Also, mewithoutYou has never been quoted as liking anything by fugazi, but they have been compared to fugazi by others.
And I'm not sure if Tooth & Nail is an indie label either, but indie is such a general term, and since everyone seems to have such different opinions on what emo is, it seems that indie would be the safest thing to call mwY. Even if they are more emotional than 95% of the world's music.
