terry chimes was one of the worst drummers. listen to every drum beat on the clash and tell me how many fills you hear. theres a picture of them all posing and hes trying to look tough. its funny coz he looks like joes dad or something. can i ask a question? whats so great about the pistols anyway? i thought "bollocks" was very boring. mick jones is quoted in Westway saying that if the pistols had kept going then the clash would never have been able to catch up. i disagree with that, jonesy
guns_of_brixton
03-06-2005, 04:40 PM
I agree. Chimes= crappy drummer.
And as for the Pistols, they weren't so great. I don't agree with what Mick said either about them, because the Clash were 100 times the band that the Pistols were.

well, it depends on what you like, really.
rock art: it sounds more like the clash when they were in their 'weird' phase than the other meskies albums.a bit more
global a go-go: music from all around the world, it's different from everything else for sure.it's the one a lot of people prefer.dedicated to joey ramone's memory.
streetcore: the last album joe ever did.the meskies had to finish it after he died, so it's a really sad album, but its a piece of art really.it's gonna make you dance and cry and smile at the same time.my favorite.

I dont no what else to put on the back, i was thinking of putting their names on there in red. does anyone have any ideas and do u think putting there last names on the back would look good.

Jimmy jazz is a fuorking great song , lyrics are great and its got a nice jazz feel to it , feels like you are sitting in a club! :thumb:
Joe Strummer is a F>*king legend. Strummer was one of the ultimate performers of our time , his lyrics are briliant and always make you think and always gives multiple interpretation to the songs , he is one ofthe most innovative artists. Sandanista! is a great album to show you how diversethe clash were , the clash is the ultimate punk record , give em enough rope is pretty good combat rock has some great tunes , and london calling is a masterpiece of rock and roll and music in general.
The mescaleros were a original and fresh sounding band with joe's great songwriting
You cant forget Mick Jones either as he wrote some of the good songs like Stay Free and "lost in the supermarket" after the clash mick then went on to do B.A.D and produce the libertines which is pretty cool I reckon.
Joe was the Punk and master lyricist , who could write deep and great lyrics , Mick was a Great musician who could turn joe's energy into a catchy form , and bring his own great stuff to the table.
You gotta remember strummer only sang half of the songs really , he and mick were a pair.
Both are absolute legends.
