This my band. We've got three songs up on purevolume. They aren't great quality wise and execution wise, but I'd like to know what you think, overall.

We're planning on going to a studio in the not so distant future so I should be back sometime with real recordings.
Thanks

It's ok, but your website makes you sound like you are up your own arses a little. Maybe work on that.
Musically, you need to be a bit more tight with the band...perhaps work on the hooks a little more, maybe rhythm changes etc? All to maintain interest and flavour.

How so?
"The music describes a coming of age in an age when the majority of the youth was too involved in binge-drinking, illicit-sex, heroin addiction, and reality television to create anything of true beauty. Enter the Dishonest Mailmen, a.k.a. the saviours of modern music."
That sounds slightly, hmm. Yeah. Anyway.
Maybe most people would ignore it, or take it as something funny/enjoyable etc but personally when I read it I was like "oh God"...but then I am a real cynical realist/depressed hater of everything, haha.
Keep up the music man, at the end of the day that's what it's all about.

It's just a joke, not serious in any way. Our ego definitely does not extend to that level.
It's meant to be a stupid joke because we would rather avoid actually talking about ourselves, I guess. If people are taking it seriously, which I hope people are not, we'll do something about it. But I'm fairly sure that the majority of people won't take it seriously and may even find it humorous.

I listened to the first track on your pure volume and thought it was quite good. In terms of the music, the intro felt too long for this sort of stuff. In terms of the mixing, the vocals seemed to quiet. I am guessing your singer plays guitar and bass and wanted to turn the instruments up more than his voice, but most songs are remembered by the vocal melodies (which weren't half bad, by the way).

The reason for the quiet vocals in some parts and loud in some other songs/parts/whatever is because of how recorded it. It was just done really lazily. Hopefully we'll get some good mixing when go in to actually record.

Ha I loved it. I listened to the first song, just starting the second one. I can definitely hear the Libertines influences :p.
The vocals need some work, but I think it's more practice than anything, I liked the sound of it.
I would buy an album if you ever recorded one. Very enjoyable.
