What is Cakewalk. Is it a good program (pros and cons)? My local music store is selling it for 50 dollars is that a good deal? My band is looking for a cheap way to record WILL THIS HELP US?

i doubt you'll need it. On the plus side it lets you use VSTs with custom interfaces and has lots of midi worked into it, but audacity should do your band fine. its free.

$50 is a good price though.
