Yeah, but its still cool to hear. If he overdoes it it won't be anything special.

I still think it will be cool if he does. Like a couple of lines just screaming. Just think it would be something different and cool.

I do! I love the band more than my family...but I'm not a big fan of the songs that they make acoustic that were originally electric.

DepthsOfDreams555

That Junesong Provision acoustic is so funky. The Starland Ballroom The Light and The Glass when he played it acoustic was really good.

After hearing the Cd some more I figured out my favorites: Always and Never, Welcome Home, Ten Speed (Of God's Blood & Burial), The Willing Well: 2, and The Willing Well: 3. Those songs are simply incredible. The rest of the songs are very good but these are the best.

DepthsOfDreams555

I think that Crossing the Frame is one of my favorites too.

I got the cd.

(OMG still in library lawl)

If it had another corny subtitle, it would be "The best and worst of coheed and cambria". I have to say it has some of their best songs (Apollo I/II, welcome home, that one erica court song that i cant bother to type out all the way), but it also has some of their worst (wake up.....bleh). and, i will say, i got a shiver down my spine when i hear 'the ring in return' done with violins.

Sep

Wake Up is incredible. If you think that's one of the worst songs Coheed have done I am psyched, because I was expecting that to be one of the best ones.

Its just so....meh. It sounds like top 40 country to me.

And did you catch the throwback to blood red summer in apollo II? That was touching. It reminded me of 2113 with time consumer and I, Robot.

I'm not amazed by Wake Up either... it's good but seems a little passionless, and what is with these country licks that travis plays in mulitple songs over the main line, it doesn't work for me. The line "I'd do anything for you, Kill anyone for you" kills the song for me, I really don't like it... I know it might fit with the story but I just don't really see it and so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It seems like Claudio's sadistic lyrics seeping through in and acoustic song :/.

Anyways, my favorites on this album so far are the Intro track which is very cool, Welcome Home, Ten Speed and Apollo I.

It's really not a very good solo, I'm afraid. I'm not disparaging Dr. Know, but he IS a hardcore guitarist after all. Soloing is not big on his priorities list, at least not for an album like SSTB.

Oh my God. The Suffering video is so goddamn cheezy.

Edit: Just a few things I'm noticing.

-Claudio's hair is really huge. I want to touch it.
-Claudio is wearing a haggard jacket.
-All of them look like hippies.
-The drummer's ride cymbal is over by his hi-hat.
-The crazy dude in the tunic has pretty much nothing to do with the storyline. It seems really....uh...gay.

Edit 2: Stop spamming. I hate deleting posts.

About Eppard's ride cymbal, he plays open handed. So that means he plays left handed on a right handed kit. So it makes sense to have his ride cymbal on his left, so his main hand (his left) can play it.

So has anybody else watched the little "Vignette" things that MTV was running. They have them on MTV.com. They're supposed to help tell the story-line running through Good Apollo, but they're only about a minute long and very confusing. The very most I can tell from them are that Jesse now plays this massive role in the story and a lot of it is about Claudio's longing for Newo.

Ya that is what I have gotten out of them too. I haven't read much on Cobalt until I read the novel and I'm going to get it at the show I'm going to next weekend because they don't have it at Hot Topic. Those Vignette things just make it really confusing. I will read and get more into breaking down Good Apollo when I read the novel.

Well its weird because in the novel they have talked about Newo once. Claudio says something like "Why is Erica in Newo's place" and all I know is that Claudio left her after A Favor House Atlantic. He is taking her back from Al or where she was and some people say The Light and the Glass is a letter from Claudio to Newo but I'm not sure. Thats where Newo is right now before Good Apollo and Im not sure of her place in Good Apollo. In Apollo I "I'm spying on you Newo" I'm not sure what that means. But I think that Erica is a bigger part in Good Apollo and I am not sure who she is entirely.

Newo and Ambelina are basically playing the two roles of a relationship in GA. Newo stands for the cheating aspect of Erica, and Ambelina stands for the love aspect. Since the writer feels both of these in his real life relations, he chooses to express it like this. Ten Speed tells the writer to kill off Ambelina, to unleash the Crowing in Claudio. Aka, kill off the aspect of love in the Writer's life, so he can get over his cheating girlfriend. I hope that cleared up anything.

No no no. Metaphors dude. The Writing Writer (aka god), uses situations in his real life as characters in the story. "God's" girlfriend Erica Court cheated on him, so he made Newo cheat on Claudio in the story. He still loves her, so he made Claudio love Ambelina in the story. The Writer's life is becoming hectic and insane, so Ten Speed encourages him to kill off Ambelina in the story, therefore making it shorter, and the sooner the story ends, the sooner the Writer can relax and live a normal life. Also, with the killing of Ambelina, Ten Speed tells him that he will get over Erica (aka his girlfriend).

And he kicks the girl in the hole and he says he can only end his pain with the commencment of her suffering....Is that what the Suffering is Erica Suffering I'm so lost haha but your helping so much thanks.

So are you saying that the Writer is like the God of the keywork and of the entire world. That just is kinda screwin me up.

Exactly, GA is about the Writer (God) and Claudio. Basically there's this guy (The Writer, God) writing the story of Coheed and Cambria. His real-life events effect the story of Coheed and Cambria. About the Newo part, look at the top of the page after the part with Chase. It says New York City. The story has now turned over to the Writer, and it shows him missing Erica. Its the Writer not Claudio at that part.

Thats what they were planning on doing but now I heard that they are going to release a novel for each CD but they still might do a big one I am not sure. I think that if they are doing that idea with each novel they should stop doing the comics beacuse the comics are so slow and they take forever to realease one. Nah, just the first one. I don't really like III as much, and II is just boring.

The Camper Velourium trilogy is great, my favourite is Al The Killer. Great chorus riff, I love playing it and singing at the same time.
God, I love Coheed so much. I'm going to have to buy Good Appolo soon, and then probably SSTB if I can find it near me.

Who is the guy getting his head chopped off I think it is Claudio but then how is he still living. Is this just symbolism?

Alright I am done reading for now. I really hope Jon gets on soon.

Alright I guess that, that green guy is some kind of symbol that represents The Writer. Wilhelm Ryan and Dentiwolf are talking and Wilhelm talks about someone that will side with them that is more powerful than the Crowing. Then when the Writer is in his dream and approaching the house he says Apollo? and then there is a guy there that says Good Apollo Where should I begin? I don't think this is the Writer because he has a cloak on and the Writer seems to be in the background and he is topless. I don't know what he means when he says. "Why is Erica in Newo's Place" The Office is on and I really want to watch it so I will post later with more stuff.

It's the writer, hes going to get his head chopped off..well kinda of. Its a metaphor because he is making the "final cut" (the final edit) in which he is killing off Ambelina. So he's not really dying. I dunno. Thats what I found out.

Alright so I really want to know who is talking to Apollo and I really want to know what Star IV is. Okay so Jon what do you think about Star IV being what the Keywork is revolving around? And if it is then I guess the Writer is giving up and Claudio is going to destroy the Keywork, that is what I am seeing right now. I think the Writer is done he has let go. I don't really know what the priest is and I also want to know who Wilhelm is talking about when he is talking about that person that is going to be stronger than the Crowing.

I dunno, we won't find out alot of stuff until GA Vol II. Burning Star IV, to my belief is where the Prise live. But I have no idea why he is "Burning Star Four" unless the writer is really using burning as a verb. Like, hes demanding him to Burn Star Four. Hmm.

Oh snap, double post.

Star 4 is one of the 7 (i think its 7) generators holding the keywork together. The writers is going insane because of the story. Also, theres tons of lines from other songs that show what made the writer make certain parts. Like 'when my fist rings hello' is a reference to delirium trigger, and the id do anything part in wake up is obviously the inspiration to IKSOSE to the writer.

Oh, and the final cut pwns. I do agree that the final cut is referring to the final edit of the story.

Ok, I had this question a while ago, and this post reminded me of it.

Since this cd is the only one about the writer, is this about all of his experiences writing the whole Co&Ca story, or just what happens to him after hes finishes writing In Keeping Secrets...?

Does this make sense?

It could be that both are true you know. If Star IV is the fourth generator, would be in the middle of all of them because 4 is in the middle of 1 and 7. Maybe?

In all actuality the Writer was a p0rn star, playing dandy games with the ladies all day and night, and getting paid for it during SSTB and IKSOSE:3. Josephine was actually one of his best, hinting his DIJC storyline. That was until the song Al The Killer. He turned anti-women one day and you all know the rest.

I don't usually listen to a band more than once a week. Plus I usually listen to bands that I'm going to see soon. So this week I've been listening to Punchline, Pennywise, and some Marathon.

I have listened to it like 10000 times but literally probably over 20 times maybe not completely but I have listened to it a ton and IMO there really aren't any weak songs Mother May I, I think is the worst track but its still good. I think Good Apollo is just as good as In Keeping Secrets but SSTB is still better than both.

I think it's definitely better than IKSSE, but probably not quite as stellar as SSTB. By the way, does anyone else think "Crossing the Frame" sounds like it could fit on the first album? Other than the bridge with the keys and harmonies in it, it seems like it would work perfectly on SSTB.

... I'm beginning to get disappointed... I had the new cd in my cd player for about 3 days and listened to it a total of about 10 times all the way through and I thought I liked it... till I went back and listened to the other two albums again and realized it doesn't really hold a light to them. With SSTB and In Keeping I loved the whole album and could easily listen all the way through but with GA I find myself forcing myself to not skip tracks :/. They are some very good songs though like Welcome Home and Ten Speed.
