Well, by the way Claudio looks in the comics, I'd say you'd have to put... ****... I'd hate to have to make it a young actor. It'd be cool if Jason Lee was Claudio, but he's way too old. So... um... ****, it's have to be someone new.
Everybody else is... whatever comes up. But Coheed would have to be played by Bruce Willis... that's right, I said it... I'm just ****ed up that way.

Coheed & Cambria sound nothing like My Chemical Romance my friend. Maybe if you listened to them instead of pre-judging every single band that is "cool" to bash, then you'd come to this realization. I for one don't have a lip ring, or long hair, so I really don't understand your point what so ever on that part. I dunno, maybe it was some cheap attempt at an insult. Who the hell knows. I am not "pissed off" at you, or mad in any way. Just next time you try and get people mad, at least be able to back up for comments. :thumb:

Well, the video for AFHA was cool and all, but all of the "new" fans thought it was about a normal "relationship" song, when its really about Claudio and Newo escaping off of Al The Killer's ship (The Velourium Camper), but whatever eh.

Coheed and Cambria dont make there videos based on the story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at least the last two im for sure (A Favor House Altlantic, Blood Red Summer) Claudio says so on the Starland DVD in the extra features he says that AFHA video shows the funny side of the band and he said that for Blood Red Summer they were showing all of the band members love for sci-fi movies they all have an obsession for that stuff......so idk but i dont think its gunna be a story related video either way im excited for it

TMA
08-12-2005, 02:52 AM
Yeah... I'm a bastard.
As I presumed, it's nearly 1:00 AM over here, and MTV.com already has the video up and online.
And as I said before, it's f*cking beautiful.
Now, most of it is just the band playing on a CGI set, and it oddly enough makes them seem like a bit of a metal band, but there is more going on. There are picture frames surrounding them, and in the frames, there is some video stuff being played, that they focus on a few times. Now, what they show in the frames looks like it might have a bit to do with the story (glad to hear it... now Claudio won't get bitchslapped). It has images of what appear to be the story-Claudio and Newo, but not exactly together. The only time you really see them together is in a graveyard, while she has a chain around her neck, and he holds the other end.
All the images in the picture frames, are done in black and white, giving a beautiful dramatic touch to them. BTW, the story-Claudio has a few shots where he looks *** ugly... maybe him transforming into the Sinstar?
Anyways, wonderful wonderful video, you should all check it out. You can simply find it on mtv.com if you need to.
Oh yeah, Claudio plays a double-neck guitar in it, and looks so much more mature than he did before. And just as I thought, some of that mad solo sh*t at the end, IS Claudio. Him and Travis trade off.
Enjoy bitches!
And I almost forgot, sadly, there is a bit of song editing in it. Not serious stuff, but a bit out of the intro, and a bit out of the second verse.
:chug:

I've been listening to Co&Ca pretty much nonstop lately and I'm convinced that they're one of the greatest bands of all time. I used to despise the band for Claudio's singing style, but it actually fits the music that they play very well.

I find the whole story behind their songs interesting, though I don't get half of it. I'm still coming along though. :p

I don't really get much of the story at all, but this band is still really good. A lot of people who don't like them say it's because of Claudio's vocals, but they've never really bothered me. I actually like them because they are unique to any of the other bands I listen to.

Go to www.yousendit.com and click "Browse" next to "Select File to Send" click on the song to upload it and click the "Send It" button at the bottom (Don't worry about entering an email adress). It should then tell you that it's uploading for a few minutes and then the screen will change and it will give you a link. Post that link here but replace the "http" with "hxxp" to de-activate the link and then post it here and people should be able to dowload it.

And of course, there's no Microphone.
And of course they're perfectly in time with the recorded song, which NO band is when they perform.
Ahh, the wonders of the music video.
Of course the only person on the set who was really doing anything that the others could hear was Josh, but that's because there's no real way to silence drums.

hey, you're not cory!

No, that just makes it more quiet.
Not too mention, just by looking at the kit... they don't have any pads on them.

If you knew anything about musicianship and how important it actually is, you'd probably be "wasiting" your time too.
We listen to them, because they're one of the few bands out there today that actually give a crap about making songs that show us how good they are as musicians, not because they have a catchy sound.

Man, I can't wait for 9/20... it can't come soon enough. I just recently got into Coheed and Cambria, after my cousin Jake thrust The Second Stage Turbine Blade at me and told me I had to buy it. I had no reservations, already having established a liking of Co&Ca based on "Devil in Jersey City", "Favor House Atlantic", and that first time someone played the song "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3" for me. So I bought it and loved it. And then I bought In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 and loved it. And then I heard "Welcome Home" and I couldn't wait for the new one to come out.

Currently, Co&Ca are on heavy rotation in my CD player (more than Radiohead, even), and are having a profound impact on my songwriting, especially lyrically. Co&Ca are an amazing band, and have helped restore my faith in modern music.

The Willing Well sounds so...so...funny sorta, it's all happy go lucky bouncy stuff and it's like "You'll burn in hell while they're digging you out" It made me chuckle. The last part is a little repetitive though...

Wake up, as soon as it started I suddenly thought of The Light & The Glass. I'm not really liking this one though, it sounds like Counting Crows....

I was expecting more of the Welcome Home type of thing with their new stuff :upset: I hope those two songs are the only mellow based songs.

Gnarmageddon
08-23-2005, 08:41 PM
It's hard for me to say. Both have a lot of songs that I like, but if I had to pick one, I'd say IKSOSE: 3.

DepthsOfDreams555
08-23-2005, 08:50 PM
I realize that they do but someone who isn't a big Coheed fan wanted it so I uploaded it for them. I like Second Stage Turbine Blade better but not by a lot just by a little.

Spectrum
08-23-2005, 08:54 PM
The debut had this great energy about it, really catchy songs and a pretty great flow, but IKSSE:3 had a lot of superior songcrafting and a higher production value. However, despite really raw (and sometimes graphic) lyrics on tracks such as "Cuts Marked in the March of Men" and "Three Evils" and tracks like "Velourium Campier III: Al the Killer", it still has a kinda restrained feel to it... it's really a hard fight. "Devil in Jersey City" and "Neverender", and the jams on "Time Consumer" are some of my favorite Coheed songs and moments... as are "IKSSE:3", "The Crowing" and the total fun of "Favor House Atlantic"... overall, though, it's pretty much a tie, but if I was forced to choose, I guess I'd have to go with In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3.

Gnarmageddon
08-23-2005, 08:56 PM
Quick question that someone should know.

Since SSTB = 2, IKSOSE: 3 = 3 (obviously), and the upcoming release = 4, was the Penelope EP considered the first in the series?

Spectrum
08-23-2005, 08:57 PM
I'm pretty sure that's a "no". I'm fairly certain Claudio has said part 1 isn't written yet... and the Penelope EP was when they were Shabutie, right? It's almost like ATD-I and TMV; some of one became the other, but they're not the same.

Wrongo, fifth release. Another Volume of Good Apollo comes next. The Bag Online Adventures Of Coheed and Cambria is their fifth release. After that, who knows.

Uhm, actually they are. I spend way too much time on CobaltandCalcium.com (The Coheed Fan Site) forums.

I got the DVD/CD combo, and I enjoyed it as well. Claudio sounds quite noticably differently live... both better and worse at the same time, I think. His voice is a lot cleaner live, but he kinda tries too hard sometimes. Anyway, one of the highlights of the live show for me was when they did "Time Consumer". That opening jam is just plain cool. And the middle jam where he starts shredding. Man, I wish I could do that. Also, solo acoustic performances are always good.

Just because it SAYS volume one doesn't mean there has to be a volume two. I know what Cobalt and Calcium is I'm not retarded, but I'm not on there a ton anymore so I wouldn't know what you heard from there.

I'm gonna guess that there will be a volume two... but it is doubtful, considering the promoting of the album has said "this is the final cut".

But if you really think about it, why would they stop now? They're becoming increasingly popular.

True. Who knows what they'll do after the story ends/begins? Would they just do an offshoot story, or change their name and do another project, or would they just keep their name, write some songs, and see what happens?

Angel-like creatures in the story of Coheed and Cambria. One of them, named Ambelina, is the guardian of Claudio during IKSOSE:3. Most noticeably in The Crowing.

Everything Evil - The Monstar has laid the seed in Coheed's heart, which makes him quarrle over the decision to fix or destroy the universe. I think that the dragonfly injecting him took place on the ship however...it just seems that this song takes place on a ship. Also, I think either Coheed or someone murdered someone aboard.

Coheed killed Josephine(sp?) who is Claudio's sibling if memory serves (so Coheed killed his daughter). In the song it's sung from her point of view to Jesse. Jesse is Coheed's brother and is also known as "The Prize Fighter Inferno" (This is also the name of Claudio's side project)

Sorry if this was already cleared up. I'm just trying to redeem myself for my dumbness :upset:

Everything Evil is actually about Josephine (his daughter) coming home after a date, in which she was raped. He is then forced to beat her to death with a hammer, Mayo and some I-Robots show up, and Coheed turns into the Monstar. :)
